Luan strolled along the sidewalk, watching the street lights flicker on one by one. A dreamy smile was on her face, thinking about how tonight was going to go. Her day at school, the gun, her humiliation at the hands of Dreyfus had all been forgotten.

Luan could get through the week. She had her family and Benny to help her out.

She came up to the park entrance, passing the sign saying Ketchum Park, the words only partly visible in the dying sunlight. She walked on by it and entered, following the trail.

Luan stopped at a bench that looked out over the pond, where she heard the croaks on unseen frogs. In the distance the sun was about to dip over the horizon. Luan pulled out her phone and checked the time. 8:20. Taking the long way to get around Mr. Grouse's house had made her about five minutes later than she would have liked, but it still worked out. Benny should be here already.

She looked around, expecting to see Benny walk up to her, but he didn't. She stood up and walked around to try to find him. He must have taken another way into the park.

She walked up a hill that offered a view of most of Ketchum Park, with an oak tree growing at the top. Getting to the top she looked around. She saw two figures in the near distance standing in front of a small mound. She couldn't see much about them because of the hill casting a shadow over them.

Luan began walking to them, thinking of no better course of action to take; the sunset was soon, after all and she needed to hurry. As she got closer to the two, she heard them talking and stopped. Having gotten closer, she was able to see them better. It was Teri and her boyfriend. Their shoes were splattered with dark droplets.

She then saw that the lump was actually a person. It was Benny, wearing brown shoes, black trousers, a black and white striped shirt, red neckerchief and white gloves, all which were stained with dirt and blood. The eye liner he had on was smudged and almost indistinguishable with the bruises he had. A black beret was laying upside down about a foot away from his head.

"Where the hell is she?" complained Boyfriend.

"No worries, she'll be here," assured Teri, her head pointed down at Benny. "She sounded like a lovesick puppy. She'll be here."

Luan threw a hand over her face to mask any noise she made. She started to step backwards slowly, to escape and get help. She had stepped back about five paces before someone grabbed her, holding her arms behind her back. Luan yelped in surprise. Teri and Boyfriend heard and they snapped around to see what had made the noise.

Cowlick kept Luan from escaping as Teri and Boyfriend walked over.

"Well, hello," Teri said in a faked, cheery voice.

"Ladies first," Boyfriend said with a predatory grin, stepping back as Teri stepped forward.

Teri stopped about a foot from Luan. She was looking her up and down the same way she had on Saturday, before they stole her unicycle and beat her up. All Luan saw was a flash of flesh and she dropped to the ground, Cowlick having let go after seeing the sucker punch had dazed her.

"Don't worry," Luan heard Teri say in a somewhat distorted tone. "You and Benny can still enjoy the sunset together. Unconscious!" All three of them began stomping on Luan.
