Sometime in 2018

"What are we going to do with her?"

I look at Reed for answers. He doesn't say anything. I look back to the unconscious body of my sister.

"Are you not going to say anything!"

He snaps his head to me. He slams down his clipboard.

"What am I supposed to do!" He yells. "I can't wake her up. I don't even fully know why she's in this comatose state."

"You're the smartest man on the planet and you don't know what the hell is wrong with her!"

"Alls I know is that she absorbed a great deal of energy that I don't understand. This energy isn't known to man."

"Show me the charts."

I follow him out of the room and down the hall. He pulls up the samples of her blood.

"I've never seen anything like this and I've encountered a lot of different species."

He shows side by side the difference in her blood from just a couple years ago to now.

"Her blood is black now?" I ask. "Wait, how are you even able to take her blood? Her skin is impenetrable."

"It is right now.. that's not all." He clicks a different file. "These are her brain scans."

"Why is it blank?"

"That's what it got. Quite literally nothing."

He turns around to look through the glass walls. I look in the same direction. Sue is checking Lara's daily vitals.

"I need this to stay between us, Sam."

"Okay?"

"I've known Lara a very very long time. Since she was born. I've done brain scans on the both of you.."

"What are you trying to get at?"

"I think this energy has to do with the magic inside her. We know her having magic is a side effect of Diana and Clark using magic to conceive her. I mean magic is Kryptonian's only other weakness beside Kryptonite. It shouldn't be possible."

"Spit it out!"

"She should be dead but the magic inside her is what's keeping her alive." He says. "There's someone who may be able to help you."

"You're telling me you can't?"

"The witch who did the spell."

Reed's making no sense. I mean Lara having magic always seemed like such a norm since she grew up with it. But now she's not waking up and it's been days.

"Wanda Maximoff."

"I thought she died."

"Fly into the sky and listen.. you'll hear her."

I speed out of the building and fly into the sky. I close my eyes and listen to the people of the world. I hone in on Wanda, flying to her location.

I land on the ground in front of an old cabin. I look around. There's no other cabins within miles.

I walk up to the door, knocking when the door opens right away. A woman with red curly hair opens the door. She looks old enough to be my mother.

"Samantha Lane Kent."

"You know me?"

"Supergirl, right?" She asks. "I'm more familiar with Superwoman."

She walks away from the door as I follow. I close the door before walking towards her. She has two sets of coffee mugs set out on the table.

"You knew I was coming?"

"I could feel it.."

"What is going on with my sister?"

"Tea?"

"I don't want tea.. I want to know what's wrong with my sister."

"Sit, child."

Knowing I have no choice, I sit. She hands me sugar. I reluctantly take it, putting sugar cubes in my tea.

She must not get much company. Which I understand. Since she is alive, she has nobody. She lost the person she shared vows with and then lost her children. And years ago her brother died saving her life.

Wanda Maximoff's life has been filled with nothing but pain and sorrow. There has not been a moment in her life where everything was perfect.

"How is the weather outside? I don't get out much."

"Wanda, my sister."

She shrugs. I'm not here for small talk. I need to help Lara wake up.

"What is going on with her?"

"She is the Chosen One. She has powers of the Gods.. and of Krypton. She is our savior. I had to.."

"What do you mean?"

"Her magic is no accident."

I look at her like a crazy person. And then it hits me.

"You gave her your magic.." I whisper. "You purposely made her a witch."

"If it didn't work then she would've died.. but instead she's turned into a force to be reckoned with. I took one look at Diana and Clark and knew that I was helping create it.."

Now she's starting to sound like a crazy person.

"Why isn't she waking up?"

"Her magic is transforming."

"Into what?"

"Into what I could not."

I stand up from the table.

"Superman has always been known as the world's greatest protector.. but she.. she is the multiverses greatest protector."

I speed out and back into the sky. I fly straight to Baxter Building. I look at Reed.

"Well?"

I grab Lara's body and fly out of here.
