Chapter 5 | A Day With You

It has been a month since you started living with Wanderer, life was peaceful, and he is surprisingly attentive towards you. Best of all, you get to eat Wanderer's cooking every day! Just a month ago, you were lamenting about how you have to force yourself to eat cat food. However, you were pleasantly surprised when Wanderer made you Sweet Madame instead of giving you just typical cat food. Everyday has a different dish waiting for you on the plate. He seems to know what exactly you need in the moment, such a husband material..—caring owner you gained! 

Right now, you two are having a nice meal in the kitchen. With you having Grilled Unagi Fillet and Wanderer having a simple Shimi Chazuke.

"You sure are pretty weird for a cat, eating human food."

Your gaze meet Wanderer's, who stares at you with an unreadable expression. But if you were to guess what he is feeling right now, perhaps it would be amusement? Is he perhaps trying to tease you?

Speaking of which, you think that it has been a while since you last saw Collei and Tighnari, the two of them took care of you very well before you met Wanderer which you feel like you can't thank them enough, especially Collei. She took care of you more which gave the two of you to bond for the past few weeks. Although your only compliant is that, unlike Wanderer, Collei feed you cat food.. It wasn't the taste that gives you the yikes, the fact that it was cat food made your appetite to disappear immediately.

You almost spit out the meat you were chewing from the thought, earning a side glance from Wanderer who seems to be trying to read what you were thinking. You thought of leaving this solidarity abode to visit them. It sure has been a while after all. 

The only problem is that you do not know the way. After all, Teyvat is huge. You did spent countless hours uselessly playing Genshin Impact but you didn't manage to remember a single location. Perhaps you were just too occupied with quests and fighting to see and look where you are.

Wanderer always take you out to walk at least once a day which counts as 'walking your pet' kind of activity. However Wanderer says that, he was just wandering around the Nation as he always did before you decided to join his solitude life. You suppose it was true as well. The location varies everyday, such as Sumeru City, Pardis Dhyai, and more. And even though it can repeat, there's not a day where you did not have fun with him around, and not to mention Teyvat is a beautiful world, with the gentle breeze accompanying by sweet, refreshing smell of flowers and rain, you feel like you can just fall asleep anywhere, which you did once but was scolded by a visibly annoyed and worried(?) Wanderer. You did not learn your lesson and went sleep anyway which makes Wanderer grumble a lot but relucantly guards you everytime.

And it seems that the Gandharva Ville will get it's turn later so you suppose you can wait for a bit. You wonder what kind of places he will take you today. Just the thought of it makes you excited.

Sometimes you two wander for a very long time, it can even last days. Perhaps the home you two are staying right now can be considered as a 'resting place' whenever Wanderer is in the mood to return.

After washing the dishes, Wanderer took off the apron and hung it on the wall near the sink. A small, yet subtle smile tugged at his lips as he looked at your excited form at the door, waiting for him.

" Let's go. "

Putting on his hat, you and Wanderer start the journey for today..or tomorrow as well.

But unfortunately, it wasn't the most enjoyable trip for you as the hot desert sand makes your delicate paws feel like it's being roasted. You forced yourself to drag in the piping hot sand.

Wanderer stares at your quivering form who was obviously in verge of dying from heat stroke. A frown etches on his face as he clumsily picks you up as an attempt to help you. You want to scratch at him for his weird and clusmy holding style but is too weak to do so.

He gently took a hold of your paws and created a small, yet gentle breeze using his vision. You instantly feel better at the cooling sensation.

"Are you feeling better?"

You nods, but he didn't stop the breeze as he started walking while gently holding you. He held you in his arms all the way to Aaru Village where Candace welcomed the two of you warmly.

"I didn't take you for the type to own a pet."

Candace gently scratches your ears as the cat instincts inside you purred in satisfaction. Before you can let out a dreamy sigh, you were in Wanderer's arms again.

"I did nothing, she kept following me and I couldn't get rid of her. L"

'That was definitely not what happened.'

You want to retort but who will understand you? And this kind of reply is to be expected from someone like Wanderer. You decided to let it go.

You tried to adjust yourself since Wanderer held you in an odd position but his grip was painfully tight. Only when your paw patted his chest several times, he seems to loosen a bit, allowing you to adjust your position a bit.

Before long, it was already night.

"It is too dark to ventor outside. You may encounter monsters out there."

"That's not something I can't handle."

Wanderer curtly says before looking at you who was lazing at one of the couch in the guest house.

"Let's go."

"..."

You meows in response, hunched over the soft cushion in a carefree manner. Such a lazy cat you are. Seeing as you are not willing to go, Wanderer tsked in irritation before heading inside again.

"Okay, we will leave at dawn."
