There are about a million things that I would like to do today, but going to work is not one of them. But as an 18 year old third year, I don't have much of a choice. For now, I am stuck in a fast food restaurant slinging burgers, where the bosses are a married couple who argue all the time, but no one is surprised since they haven't aged a day since their wedding. Then there are my co-workers, Jane and Drew.
Poor Drew. He has been 18 for 12 years now, and had surgery to make himself look older so no one would know that he is alone. His efforts were almost useless, for almost everyone knows about his isolation from romance.
Jane is considered the lucky one, though. She just recently started aging after only 2 years of being 18. But I have no such interest in petty things like love. Well, that's not entirely true. I consider my youth to be my one and true soul mate. Life is my love, and no foolish feelings are going to take that away from me.
That reminds me, I wonder where my new lover is. My last kill was two months ago, and I've grown fond of the sport. It's turned into quite the game, to find new and creative ways to kill my prey.
Life is getting quite boring lately. That's why when one of the bosses ordered me to cashier for today, it was the first time I gladly accepted. It was easier to find my reincarnated lover through cashiering, because whenever I give the customers receipt, I can touch their hand. If they are my true mate, their hand will glow in confirmation.
But when a gorgeous lad with blond curly hair walked in for an order, I didn't need hand confirmation. I knew he was the next one. The one I had to draw in and kill.
