Happy's pov

The guild doors swung open and everyone stared with disbelief.

Natsu walked into the guild hall and suddenly became aware of the eyes on him.
No one moved.
No one said anything.
Natsu seemed to shrink into his scarf and rush hurriedly toward the corner of the guild for an empty table. Why is he going to sit by himself?

The guild erupted into shouts and happy tears as everyone ran over to Natsu excitedly. Natsu flinched at the sudden loud noise and slowly backed away from the mob of people overjoyed to see him. He continued retreating backwards to the confusion of everyone around him. He reached the wall and jumped when his back touched the wall. Why is he acting so strange?

The guild noticed an angry mage behind them and parted letting her through with looks of terror on their faces. Well he's dead, I thought to myself.

"NATSU, explain yourself. ITS BEEN A YEAR AND WE HAVENT HEARD FROM YOU ONCE." Erza yelled. Her voice rang through the guild hall and everyone took a step back. Natsu sank down onto the floor not lifting his eyes to hers. Is he... having a panic attack? No... Yes? That's not like natsu?

Natsu's pov

My hands began to shake and I still didn't dare take my eyes from the floor. "Natsu?" Erza asked seeming confused and worried.

"I- I'm fine, I just... tripped." I barely managed to get out, it wasn't a very good lie but Erza didn't press any more at least. People... why are there so many people? Just go away! Please.

I began to breath heavier staring at the floor intently trying to distract myself from the masses of people around me. My vision was blurring and I grabbed my hair tightly with one hand. I can't. I can't get their eyes off me. Please. Go. Away.

Erza stepped closer and reached for me "I'll help you up."

"NO" I slaped her hand away. DONT TOUCH ME.
"S- Sorry that came out harsh, I m- meen I can get up myself." I stood up whilst i focused on my breathing and tried to get my hands to stop shaking. Their your friends, your at the guild now I told myself several times.

Erza stared at me skeptically "I expect an explanation later." She said i could tell she was trying to hold back her anger.

I slipped past the crowd quickly whislt attempting not to seem to hurried. "NATSU." Gramps called seriously, with a stern look on his face of disapproval and concern. I flinched for a moment but kept on walking out the guild hall and towards my house.

Happy's pov

Everyone stared at the salmon haired boy as he left the guild. Erza turned to face me with an angry look on her face "HAPPY! do you know what that was about." Her glare wad menacing and eventhough she was standing a few feet away she seemed to be peering over me. "I don't know." I said. It wasn't a complete lie but it didn't seem to make Erza any happier.

"Come with me, you to Gray." Erza ordered and stared at Gray who looked back with the same concern.
"If you don't mind I want to come to." Wendy said barely heard over the whisters of the crowd still formed around where Erza stood.
"Of course Wendy." Erza smiled as she said it, though it seemed fake as if she had something else on her mind.

Erza banged on the door of our cottage and yelled "Natsu let us in NOW!"
No one answered wich only added to her anger. "Wait, Erza," I said flying over to the spare wellies that sat underneath the front window "me and Natsu always leave a spare key in one of the shoes for emergancys!" I tipped one of the shoes upside-down and a small silver key fell out and landed with a patter onto the grass. Picking it up I unlocked the door and opened it letting everyone inside.

The lights were off in the house and it didn't seem like anyone was home. I'm sure he's here. "Natsu you owe me an explanation!" Erza called through the house. I flew into our bedroom and he wasn't there either. I heard rustling from the closet and slid the door open.

Natsu sat with his knees against his chest breathing heavily and holding onto his head. His eyes were closed and he didn't stir to look at me. "Natsu, are you ok?"

That made his realise. He suddenly jumped in surprise and hit his back and head against the wall. He arched his back and fell onto his knees in agony. "I- it's just a headache. I'm fine" natsu stared at me and smiled.

He's a terrible liar.

Erza came running through from the kitchen to see what happend. He covered his ears to the noise and shut his eye tight. "NATSU I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION."

He waited too long before answering "I got caught up... helping a town I passed through."

"THAT STILL DOESNT EXPLAIN WHY YOU DIDNT SEND A LETTER."

"I'm sorry." Natsu stared at the floor again as if trying to hide from Erza's glare. "Well why did you leave the guild after you arrived?" Erza asked. She wasn't convinced by his story, he took too long to answer but pushing wouldn't accomplish much.

"I had a headache, but I feel fine now." Natsu smiled up at Erza but immediately looked away when he met her eyes. "We should head back, Gramps is probably anxious to talk to you."Erza said
