Natsu, are you ok?

Chapter 4

Erza pov

Me Gray, Lucy and Wendy followed Happy into Gramp's office and shut the door behind us.

" I shouldn't say much because I don't want to betray Natsu but I can say that he went missing because he was with his family." Happy said seriously. I looked around and everyone else had the same look of confusion, Natsu had said his family died when the village was set on fire and always shut down if anyone tried to get any details.

"But I thought his parents died in a fire" Wendy said confused.

"That was a lie to stop anyone asking questions. His dad died but his mother and brother are still alive. One of his brothers saved him from the fire but that was the last time Natsu saw him" Everyone stood in silence prossesing that information, but why did he lie?

"I still don't understand Happy, why did his family cause him to leave for a year and how is that related to his current state." I said expectantly.

"I- I shouldn't  say, I promised him" he said as i stared at him harshly he knew he was going to regret it if he said nothing but he promised natsu on his life.

Happy said it quietly so we could bearly hear what he was saying "Natsu has always suffered with anxiety and other thing due to his... family life and seeing them seemed to have pushed him over the edge." Happy rushed the sentences and kept checking behind him as if he expected Natsu to be standing there angry with him.

I could tell that Happy was leaving out key information but I desided to let it go.

No one said anything.

I met eyes with Gray and I saw him also wondering what the cat had left out "Don't tell him I said anything."

Why did Natsu lie?

Did he not trust us?

Is it my fault?

As soon as we left the office everyone bombarded us with question but we said nothing and silently took a seat at our table processing what happened.

"Me and happy should go check if he's alright." No one said anything as me and happy left the guild in search of natsu.

"Happy? Where do you think he'll be?" I asked realising that we wouldn't be able to find him at his house.

"The park where we hold the cherry blossom festival! He's alway there when he's sad." He replied and I saw hope in his eyes as we speed off towards the park.

After searching for ages we finally found him near one of the largest cherry blossom in the park.

He had crawled up into a ball with his knees against his chest and held his head with one hand the other was spinning something metal that gleamed in the sunlight. He buried his face into his legs.

I couldn't see his face but I could tell he was crying and as we approached I heard him muttering to himself: "stop. stop. stop. make it stop." Repeatedly until I placed my hand on his shoulder.

He flinched at the motion and pulled away in fear. He quickly put the metal object in his pocket and he rose to his feat. Now he was standing I could see the scars on his torso and the bruises and cuts that were all over his back. Tears fell from my left eye. "Natsu its me, I wanted too see if your ok and see if you wanted to come back to the guild."

He ran his fingers through his hair again and again until he calmed down. "T- thanks erza. " more tears fell from his face and he hugged me tightly. "Do you want to go back to the guild." I asked still holding him close. He shook his head and sobbed louder. "It's safe" I promised and began to lead him back to the guild hall.

My eyes fell to the bandage on his left arm, where small patches of blood had soaked through. "Natsu, why are you so injured?" He didn't reply wich I guess was his way off saying he didn't wanna tall about it.

When we arrived at the guild everything went silent and I felt everyone's eyes on us, more accurately on Natsu's scars. 

Natsu stayed close as i guided him through the crowds back to where our table was, now it was just burnt wood shaped irregularly.

"Hey guys! Glad your back. I found a job request that seems perfect for you." Mira waved a peice of paper in the air with a smile. Erza read it out for us;

Please investigate the resent thefts from the town bank and retrieve the money.

Around 10,000,000 jewels have been reported stolen resently and such a large sum of stolen cash is putting the bank into crisis.

Reward: 50,000 Jewels

"That sound great." Erza said exepting the request on Team Natsu's behalf "where is it."

"The request came from a small village west from here called Yoshino, its only 1 and a half hours on train." She replied at the same time she handed the information to Erza and told Gramps they were taking the request.

"Hey Natsu, Erza, we are heading back to my place I hope you didn't forget." Lucy waved frantically.

That's right we were all having a sleepover to celebrate the Team being back together. A smile gleamed on my face "we're coming." I dragged Natsu towards the others.
