Laura POV:
My beautiful baby girl. I couldn't imagine a better world for her to live in than with someone like Beatrice in it. She's been through a lot, I know. I'm supposed to hate her but I can't seem to find a single bone in my body that could possibly despise the woman I have told all of my secrets too in the darkest of days. Now I hold my daughter, looking into the very eyes I want her to see every day. "Beatrice.!" I say. Jo smiles on complete aw as Beatrice is oblivious to what I was trying to say. "Yeah?"
"The babies name is Beatrice.!" Jo confirms for her and her face is in instant denial.
"Laura. No, you can't-" She begins. I put my hand up to her cheek, tracing shapes along her cheek. "You have done so much for my family B.! Beatrice is her name.! Beatrice Barton." I declare. After my words, Clint comes rushing in, a little late but I Can't hold that against him. He practically saves the world from ending. "You made it." I smile widely at him but his eyes don't leave Beatrice's. I see her tense up at is presence, it's a normal thing for her but I can tell this is a different much more intense tension. "I did." He walked over to the bedside, holding my hand in his. "What is her name?"
"Beatrice." He froze, his jaw clenching as he looked toward Beatrice. "A word." He says, demanding that she step out. Before they leave, Jo pulls her off to the side, exchanging a few words before she let Beatrice go. "He's real mad." Jo says, wanting to intervene but not being able to. Even I wanted to say something, but there's not much I can do either. After many moments of adoring my precious baby girl, Clint appears in the doorway, not angry but guilty. "What happened.? Where is Beatrice?"
"She um...She had other work to attend to. She'll be back later." He replies, not fully answering my question. He said something to her and I know it. Something that chased her away, again. She was already going through enough. Why'd he have to go off and make her feel more shitty than she already did.We sat in silence, just as our newly born baby did. She didn't make a sound which I was even surprised about. Cooper wailed when he first came out while Lila, only a few seconds. But Beatrice, she didn't.
Jo's Pager went off without warning, she looked at it and then at us. Then followed a harsh boom from the opposite end of the hospital it sounded like. Screams and shouts erupted from the hallway as we could see nurses and children and doctors all hurrying around as if the building was on fire. Clint answered his ringing phone, holding it up to his ear. "Hello?" He nodded as the person on the other side of the line. He looked between me and Jo, standing up from the stool. Clint barricaded the door quickly not thinking to tell us what was actually going on. Once he finally settled down with his gun in his hand, he spoke. "There's someone with a gun and explosives on the premises."
"What!?"
"Everything will be okay.! I promise, my love." He assures me, pressing his lips to mine. It was somewhat of a comfort. "We'll wait here until they start evacuating the building." Just as I settled down, my mind shoots back. "Where's Beatrice.?"
"..Damn it." He scuffed, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.+Time Skip+
There wasn't many bodies, only a few. That included nurses and 2 patients. No matter how many people they pulled out, I only worried about Beatrice. How she could be anywhere in that god forsaken hospital and I couldn't help her. I searched and I searched through the crowd, Clint hurrying after me as i shoved through the countless of people. She was no where to be found. How couldn't I find one woman. "CLEAR THE WAY!" The medical officials hollered as they rushed with little alarms attached to their jackets. The body was covered up, meaning they were dead. They stopped in the sight of a desperate woman searching for her children who had ran off. When she flipped the blankets slightly off to see the face, I saw exactly who it was. Delilah.
The next that followed wasn't covered. They had on a pair of black jeans, a leather coat and a pair of timberlands that looked awfully familiar. The same woman looked, giving me time to settle my thoughts of that severely injured woman being- "BEATRICE!!" I heard her name from across the yard of the hospital. Amelia held her in her arms as the woman hunched over, clearly exhausted. She was covered in debree and soot. Blood covered her clothes and they appeared torn. I breathed out in relief as her eyes met mine, flashing a reassuring smile across her lips. She's okay.! She's alive.
(This was just an extra chapter. I've been slacking a bit on this story so just wanted to give y'all a little something! Hope you enjoyed!)
