The next day, everyone is called to the conference room. The entire team is here. Price walks in and says, "Everyone take a seat. I need to tell you something important." Everyone sits down. I watch him take off his hat. Why is he taking off his hat? He never takes off his hat. Wait. Please don't say what I think you're going to say. Please no. God, I may not be on good terms with you but please. I'm begging you.
"As you all know," He starts. "Konig went on a solo mission." No. No. No. I'm officially freaking out now.
"No." I say aloud, choking a sob. Price looks at me, sadness in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Star." He says. The tears start and I can't stop them. "He went MIA about six hours ago. He's behind enemy lines. We don't know if he's still alive or not."
"No." I sob, shaking my head. Half the team is looking at me like I'm crazy but I don't care. The other half is concerned about me. "No. We have to go get him." Price shakes his head.
"You aren't allowed to go Star." He says. "They've assigned Ghost and Soap to go." I look at Ghost.
"Please." I say.
"I'll try Star." Ghost says. "I'll do everything I can."

"Star?" Keegan calls as he enters my house. I don't answer. It's been two days. Two days since Konig went MIA. Two days since Ghost and Soap went behind enemy lines to find him. Two days of no word and complete silence. I gave up trying to ask for updates. I would ask every hour and eventually the communications group got mad and told me to fuck off. They just don't understand.
I hear the front door shut. "Star?" Keegan says again. I blink back my tears. I know he's here to check in on me, but I need to be left alone. "Star? Where are you?" I sigh.
"Bathroom." I call just loud enough for him to hear. I look at the now cold bath water. I've been sitting in the bath for almost two hours now and I don't feel like getting out anytime soon.
"Hey," He says as he enters the bathroom. "How are you doing?" I look at him and he grimaces, seeing my mascara stained cheeks and puffy eyes. I know for a fact that I look horrible. "Don't answer that." He walks over to me and sits down next to the tub. He feels the temp of the water with his hand. "Do you want me to replace it with warm water?" I nod. "Alright."
He pulls the plug and lets it drain fully before filling it back up with warm water. After it's full, he just sits and watches me. "What?" I ask quietly.
"I'm just worried about you." He says. I nod.
"Everyone is." I say. "Everyone is more worried about me when they should be focusing on getting him home." He nods.
"Star," He says softly and puts his hand on my thigh underneath the water. "It's traumatic. For both you and Konig. We all know you love him. And we all know he loves you. We will help you get through this."
"What if he's dead Keeg?" I ask and look at him again, using his nickname. "What if they killed him? What if he's never coming back?" He shakes his head.
"Hey," He says and places his hand on my cheek. "Look at me." He moves my head so I look at him. His grayish eyes pierce into mine. Damn his eyes are pretty. "He's a survivor Star. And he loves you too much to leave you alone and morn him. He'll come back. For you." He wipes my tears away.
"I hope so." I say. We sit in silence as I calm myself back down. "You must think I chose Konig, huh?" He smiles.
"You choose whoever you want to choose." He says. "If you choose Konig, no hard feelings. I understand." I nod.
