I smiled happily, jumping out of bed. Today we are going to the zoo! I have never gone to the zoo before! Happy memories are slowly replacing the scary memories left in my brain. Gradually I am adapting to my new life with my family, they are all so nice to me! Tommy is a protective big brother, Cassie is closer to my age and is my new best friend.
Cassie appeared in my doorway, dressed in a pink shirt and blue shorts. "Mummy will be here to dress you soon."
"Okay" I bounced on my bed. Laughing, she bounced with me. "Are you hungry? I want breakfast!"
"Yes Yes! I want sandwiches! I want to see the animals!" I shouted loudly.
"Alley Dear, don't shout in the house. Use your indoor voice." Mummy scolded gently. She picked out a blue shirt and white shorts, helping me to dress.
"Okay Mummy, can we eat now? I am hungry!"
"Sure dear! Let's go down now. Daddy made your favourite sandwiches!"
I cheered, picked up my little bag and ran downstairs without waiting for Cassie and Mummy. Daddy had made ham and cheese wheat bread sandwiches. Yay!
Tommy smiled good morning to me, I was too busy eating to reply. After finishing breakfast, Daddy and Mummy went off to prepare for the trip while we sat down on the sofa, waiting for them.
"Tommy? Cassie? What animals do you like best?"
Tommy and Cassie looked at each other, then said in unison,"We like you best!"
I laughed,"But I am not an animal!"
"Yes you are!"
Just as I was about to reply, Mummy came in, "We are ready to go now!"
We ran to the car happily, singing songs all the way. Finally we arrived at Willshire Zoo, a hand grabbed me as I was about to run off. "Wait! Alley, no running about or going anywhere without our permission okay? Stick close to Cassie or Tommy or Mummy if I am not around."
I shrugged impatiently, "Okay Okay Daddy, can we move down?"
I skipped and yelled happily when i saw all the different animals, with Tommy, Mummy and Daddy telling me the names and information about the names.
"Oh! Wolves! Pretty like Waggie!" I hollered, running towards the enclosure to have a closer look. There were black and brown wolves and I see puppies!
"Alley!" Tommy came running, and held my hands tightly as he tugged me off. "We are having lunch now."
I followed along like a good girl. I fidgeted while having lunch, home packed noodles. "Mummy? I wanna go toilet."
"Okay, let's go, Cassie? Coming with us?"
"Yes"
I waited as Mummy and Cassie went into the toilet first. Suddenly I remembered, I haven't say goodbye to the wolves yet! So I ran off, luckily I remembered the path to the wolf enclosure.
As I stood, peeking through the fence, a little boy about the same age as me ran up too. I looked over-he had dark brown hair and a dimple on his left cheek.
"Hi, I like the black wolf." He said. I smiled back shyly. "Hello, i like the puppies!"
He laughed happily, pointing to my cheeks. "You have dimples too! Wanna go in and play with the puppies?"
"Yes! Let's go!" He held my hands, "I am Dante, but mummy call me Danny" he makes a face.
I giggled."Danny's a nice name. I am Alleson, Alley"
