A week had passed since their unexpected encounter at the lake, and tensions still lingered between Taehyung and Jungkook.
On this particular evening, a dinner was being hosted at Taehyung's house, and Jungkook and his parents had been invited.
As they gathered around the dinner table, Taehyung took the opportunity to introduce Jungkook to Yoongi, an old university friend who had come to visit. The atmosphere was cordial, with polite conversations flowing across the table.
Taehyung smiled as he made introductions. "Kook, this is Yoongi. We studied together at university. Yoongi, this is Jungkook, a family friend."
Jungkook forced a smile but couldn't help feeling a pang of jealousy as he observed Yoongi and Taehyung's easy camaraderie.
The dinner conversation continued, with Taehyung sharing stories about his recent art projects, while Jungkook's parents discussed business matters with Taehyung's father.
As the evening progressed, Jungkook's jealousy grew, and he couldn't contain his curiosity any longer. He leaned closer to Taehyung and asked in a low voice, "Is Yoongi more than just a friend, Tae?"
Taehyung's irritation flared, and he replied tersely, "No, Jungkook, he's just a friend visiting."
Jungkook's jaw tightened, his jealousy and frustration bubbling to the surface. "It just seemed like... you two were getting along very well."
Taehyung's patience wore thin. "jungkook, don't be ridiculous. Yoongi is just a friend, and I don't need your approval for my friendships."
The tension in the air was palpable, and Jungkook's irritation mirrored Taehyung's. Without another word, he pushed his chair back and got up abruptly. "I need some air," he muttered, leaving the dining room.
Taehyung watched him go, his own frustration mingling with a sense of longing and sadness. The dinner that had begun so promisingly had now taken an unexpected turn, leaving both of them with unresolved feelings and a growing distance between them.
The following weekend, Taehyung decided to go horse riding with Yoongi. They both shared a love for the outdoors, and Taehyung thought it would be a great way to spend some time together. As they made their way to the stables, Taehyung couldn't help but notice how handsome and broad-shouldered Yoongi looked, his presence drawing admiring glances from others.
Jungkook, who had been nursing his jealousy since the dinner incident, couldn't shake the feeling of unease. He had seen Taehyung and Yoongi together, and the sight had fueled his jealousy even further. He knew he had no right to feel this way, but he couldn't help it.
As Taehyung and Yoongi mounted their horses and set off on the trail, Jungkook watched them from a distance, his eyes fixed on Taehyung's graceful figure. Taehyung looked beautiful, his slender form contrasting with the powerful horse beneath him. Yoongi, too, exuded confidence as he guided his horse with ease.
The jealousy gnawed at Jungkook, making him question his own feelings and the unresolved emotions he had for Taehyung. He knew he had pushed Taehyung away in the past, but seeing him with someone else was more painful than he had anticipated.
As Taehyung and Yoongi rode together, their laughter carried through the air, further fueling Jungkook's jealousy. He couldn't stand the thought of someone else making Taehyung smile and laugh.
Unable to bear the sight any longer, Jungkook turned away and retreated, struggling with his emotions. He knew he needed to confront his own feelings and come to terms with his past mistakes, but the pain of seeing Taehyung with someone else was tearing him apart.
The horseback ride continued, unaware of the turmoil it had caused in Jungkook's heart. Taehyung enjoyed the day with Yoongi, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness, knowing that the distance between him and Jungkook had grown even wider.
