TITLE: I Love You So (Please Let Me Go)
AUTHOR: leh_sarah on AO3It started out at their usual place.
Well, actually, it started with a text from Suguru that simply said, "Meet up with me after sundown?". Satoru had half a mind to just ignore the message, but he didn't. He never did. His heart could only handle the crushing weight of loneliness for so long.
So, he found himself at their usual place; an alleyway close enough to the school that Satoru could sneak in and out without much thought, but far enough that Suguru's cursed energy didn't trigger the security system.
As always, Suguru was waiting when Satoru arrived. He never specified a time, just the earliest Satoru could be there. It could never be daytime; not when someone could encounter them.
Satoru found Suguru leaning against the alley wall, his arms folded over his chest. Even though the thickness of his robes hid his form, Satoru could tell that he'd lost a bit of weight since their last encounter.
"You're late, Satoru," Suguru murmured as he slipped an eye open. He could always sense Satoru's appearance. Satoru never questioned how.
Satoru crossed his arms. "Maybe you were early."
Suguru's eye closed again. "Hmm... Nope. I told you when I'd be here. You just love keeping me waiting."
"Is that what you really think?" Satoru found himself asking.
That time, both of Suguru's eyes opened. He tilted his head upwards, almost as if he were challenging Satoru. "And how do you know what I'm thinking?"
Ironically, Satoru was smiling. They could play this game for now. "Because you're so easy to read."
"Really?" Suguru's arms fully crossed, mirroring Satoru. "Well then, what am I thinking about right now?"
Satoru licked his lips, preparing himself for what he was about to do. This was always where the real games started. "That you'd rather be doing this."
As always, Satoru pinned Suguru against the wall and captured his lips in a desperate kiss. Suguru always knew to expect it, and how fiercely Satoru wanted him to respond. He tasted like a sour bile that was hidden behind some kind of spearmint.
There was always the thrill of risk when Satoru turned off his Infinity just for their moments, but he knew that their time was limited thanks to Suguru's absurd plans. If he ended up going down, he'd sure as hell take Suguru with him.
One of Satoru's hands found the base of Suguru's head, just under where he tied his hair up. The other brushed over his sharp jaw, slowly snaking down his neck and under the folds of his yukata. Both of Suguru's hands held Satoru's head, eventually loosening the bandages around his eyes and slipping it off.
