Seeing the android like that almost pained Connor. He was so confused. First the Tracis, Chloe and now them? He remembered the mission. John Altros, their owner. Found dead at home, with no sight of the murderer. They found the android hiding in Altros' room, crying. They got taken away, and Connor inspected the room, where he found the owners' diary. He talked about his depression and wanting a friend. That's when he bought this GJ200, a friend. He named them Y/N, and everything seemed to be okay, but then he stopped writing inside. Connor had a feeling there was more to this. During the interrogation, Y/N told them that John had started to hit them, and in self-defense, they hit him with a chair, but the force and angle of it were enough to kill Altros. The evidence lined up with what they told them, but still, something told Connor there was even more. But now wasn't the time to ask.

He made his way back to Hank, who didn't move an inch from the position he was in when Connor last saw him 10 minutes ago. He sat down on Hanks' desk at the side and sighed, visibly frustrated. He needed to say something, anything. "We can't just give up like that.. I know we could've solved this case!", Connor said, pointing at the paperwork before retracting his hand and letting out a deep breath. Finally, Hank reacted, turning around to face the android. "So you're going back to CyberLife?". Those weren't the words Connor wanted to hear again, not now. It hit him like a truck the first time Fowler said it, and it felt the exact same again. Connor exhaled: "I have no choice..". He knew that. "I'll be... deactivated and analyzed to find out why I failed". Failure.. The word plagued him. He was designed to finish this case, to solve the missions, and to save the humans. His only purpose was that, and he couldn't do it.

"What if we're on the wrong side, Connor?", Hank interrupted his thought process, bringing him back to reality. "What if we're fighting against people who just wanna be free". He leaned towards the robot, looking at him intensely, like he knew Connor had the answer to that and wanted to see if he'd say the right answer. Like a test. Connor thought for a while before answering: "If the deviants rise up.. there will be chaos. We could've stopped it! But now.. it's too late.". He couldn't look his partner in the eyes. A world of chaos and pain wasn't what anyone wanted. They had to stop it. Hank leaned back in his chair and said, "When you refused to kill that android at Kamski's place.. You put yourself in her shoes". He hoped that this would get the message across and help Connor finally realize that he's fighting against his own kind. "You showed empathy, Connor. Empathy's a human emotion". Connor didn't know what to say to that. He thought for a while, looking troubled: "I don't know why I did it..". His gaze shifted back to Hanks, and he looked at him for a moment. Deep inside him, there was this feeling that he had to tell him something. So he just let the words come out of him without thinking about them. "I know it hasn't always been easy.. but I wanted you to know I really appreciated working with you..". A slight smile appeared on Hanks face as Connor continued: "And that's not just my Social Relations program talking, I- I really mean that.. At least- I.. think I do-". Hank knew he was sincere. He knew it was not his program talking, those were words from the heart.

Hearing footsteps, Hank turned to look at the entrance, his expression shifting into one of pure annoyance. "Well, well, here comes Perkins, that motherfucker... Sure don't waste any time at the FBI..". Connor looked over as well to see the man in the big coat, whose name was Perkins. That's what gave Connor the last push, and he turned back to Hank and said, "We can't give up.. I know the answer is in the evidence that we've collected. If Perkins takes it, it's all over!", he tried to reason with the lieutenant. "There's no choice! You heard Fowler, we're off the case". Connor jumped up, a determined look on his face. He can't fail. He won't let that happen: "You've got to help me, lieutenant. I need more time so I can find a lead in the evidence we collected. I know the solution is in there!". He hoped Hank would understand him. "Listen, Connor..", he raised his hand to stop the word flow, but the dam has been broken. "If I don't solve this case, CyberLife will destroy me. Five minutes. It's all I ask". Hank thought about it for a while, giving up as he got up from his chair. "Key to the basement is on my desk" he whispered, walking away from his desk before turning around once more: "Get a move on, I can't distract him forever". As the lieutenant walked away, Connor grabbed the key card and put it in his pocket before walking to the basement.

As Y/N was laying on the bench in their cell, they suddenly heard yelling and screaming. There was a big commotion going on, and they were curious what was happening. They heard the name Perkins and someone trying to get a lieutenant to stop. Was a cop hitting the other man? They were curious about what was going on. It felt like something big was suddenly happening.

In the meantime, after dealing with Gavin, who tried to stop the android, Connor got a lead in time. He knew it, there was something both he and Hank missed. He knew the location of Jericho. They can solve the case. He won't fail. He knew the next step. Go to Jericho, find Markus, and end the chaos. He will accomplish his mission.
