(A little bit of backstory)

When you had transferred to the LAPD the last thing you expected was to find a family, and in particular a man that could make you fall for him in a split second. You had been partnered with Officer Tim Bradford, a very moral man who was the best of the best. It was rare he worked with someone as good an officer as him, but then you arrived.

It took a while for the two of you to open up to one another, sticking to talking about the job until one night when the team went out for drinks, one to many drinks. Relationships between officers where very much looked down upon, but one kiss in the alley behind the bar wouldn't hurt right? Well that kiss ended up with you waking up in his bed and having to rush home in a panic to get your uniform and get your hungover self to work. You agreed to keep it a secret and you can't deny that the secret grew over time when drinks turned into dinner, but with the two of you working together you knew it shouldn't turn into more and that hurt like hell.

Tim didn't seem the emotional, caring type at first but that all changed when you started noticing how he treated you when you where responding to calls. Always making sure you where bound him, checking on you after intense calls, even giving you a hug when he knew you where upset. He grew protective over you, and you began to admire him for it.

A fellow Officer and Detective, Nyla Harper, who you had previously done undercover work with, had become a very close friend along the way and so had John Nolan. Nolan was the go to man for advice, on quite literally anything and Nyla would often contradict the advice given by John. The two of them had began to pick up on the tension between you and Tim, catching the way you looked at each other or how Tims hand would brush against you when he asked if you where okay. Nyla knew more about your past than anyone else at the station, apart from sergeant Grey who of course knew due to your files, and she knew you needed someone like Tim, so she kept quiet and encouraged Nolan to do the same.

- okay theres a little rough back story for you-

Your day started as usual with a briefing by Grey, nothing unusual. So you and Tim started the day on patrol by stopping at Tims favourite coffee truck. Before meeting him you where an oat milk chai latte kind of person but somehow the man had turned you into a black coffee drinker by taking you to the same coffee truck everyday.

Your first call was a simple breaking and entering, a family home had been broken into, money and other valuables had been taken so you took statements and an inventory of what had been stolen, then forensics took fingerprints from the door and draw handles in the home that had been touched by a suspect. With a simple check in your system the fingerprints came back as a Gary Davids so you quickly had a suspect to find. You had his car registration the the address he was registered to so with a quick visit to his house you and Tim found him looking at the bag of cash, he tried to bolt out of a back exit but Tim was quick to tackle him to the ground. While Tim calls it in and gets the suspect in the shop you start to bag the evidence that is laid out on the kitchen table, you have to admit it seems odd, over half a million dollars in cash was just laying around in a seemingly normal family's home? For cash robberies like this it gets further looked into, you ever know what a seemingly simple case can reveal.

The rest of the shift was pretty normal, you caught a few speeding drivers, a few drunk and disorderly, nothing too crazy. You and Tim where in your way back to the station, making dinner plans when the radio clicked on. A call for a suspected break and entry, only a few minutes away.

"Seven Adam nineteen show us responding."
