The bus to the provisional license exams was quieter than usual. Everyone was nervous about how they'll do and if they'll pass. I spent the ride reading while Tsu held my hand and talked to our friends. When we got off the bus we were immediately greeted by another school.
"Hey, you must be UA! I saw the sports festival, you guys were amazing," a girl with blonde hair exclaimed brightly.
"It's so great to meet you guys," The guy with her said, reaching out his hand. "I hope we can help each other during the exams."
Bakugou scoffed and walked away, his friends apologizing on his behalf and following him. "It's nice to meet you too," Deku replied and shook his hand. Choruses of "yeah"s could be heard through the class.
We all met up in the Takobe National Stadium, filled with at least a thousand students from different hero schools across Japan. A very tired looking guy gave the announcements.
"Examinees will have six balls and three targets. These targets must be placed somewhere accessible on the examinee's body. You will need to hit other people's targets. The target will be lit up if hit. If all three of your targets light up, you're out. If someone has two targets lit up and you hit their third target, it counts as you eliminating them," The announcer, Mera, yawned and complained about "needing more coffee" before continuing. "Examinees must eliminate two other examinees in order to finish the first test. Only one hundred people will be passing."
Shouts of protest rang out through the room. "But it's supposed to be fifty percent! That's barely twenty," Someone yelled out. Murmurs of agreements could barely be heard over the yelling.
"Due to recent events," Mera explained with another yawn, this guy's sleep deprivation could rival Aizawa Sensei's, "the hero commission wants only the best heroes to be licensed. With that out of the way, the exam will now begin."
The walls and ceiling folded away leaving us in the middle of a giant stadium with various terrains. We get handed our balls and targets as well as a few minutes to prepare and go where we want.
"What's the plan," I asked Deku.
He put on his targets and held his hand up to his chin and started muttering a mile a minute. I decided to put my targets on my hip, chest, and arm. I figured those places would be easiest to guard and hurt the least if i got hit. "I think we should stick together to some sort of degree. It obviously wouldn't be easy for all of us to get targets that way, we would need forty people for all of us to get our points, but we could slowly get points that way. Plus, everyone else knows our quirks so we're at a disadvantage so if we stick together it would be harder for the other schools to attack us. They'll probably try to attack us, at least a lot of people would, seeing as we're easy targets. However, we have increased our abilities a lot since the sports festival and made ultimate moves since then, so I think we should be okay."
"Wow, kero," Tsu replied. "That was a lot."
"Haha, sorry. I can get a little carried away."
"The first round of the Provisional Hero License Exam begins now," Mera said sleepily over the speakers.
