AAAAAA I'M SO SORRY ABOUT THE WAIT AND THE SPELLING MISTAKES IN PREVIOUS CHAPTERS UGH I'M THE WORST LOL

More of Jordan because I love them so much. All characters are in this chapter!!!

Also I have a few genderfluid friends that Jordan is heavily based on, so I hope I do their identity justice <3

Jordan's P.O.V

I hate new beginnings. I'm used to routine. But. New school. New hair. New me? I dunno. I hope 'new me' doesn't suck as much. I sound like a depressed white woman on New Year's Eve after a few glasses of wine. It's kind of a vibe if I'm being honest.

I went shopping on my lunch break. I was trying to find some contacts that could potentially hide my lazy eye. Turns out, that doesn't really work like that, so I gave up real quick. I returned to school and tried to find somewhere on the lawn to eat my food. I made a lasagne and cut it into cubes so I could eat it easier (I had jaw surgery as a kid. Still has me a bit fucked up.)

I hate finding new people to talk to, so I decided that I'd break down and find Sally. We've never really gotten along, but I figured she could help me (maybe). Fortunately, I found her pretty quick on a picnic blanket on the main lawn, under a tree. Unfortunately, she was surrounded by a group of people.

Fuck me, alright.

I stalked over to her, trying to get her attention. She doesn't really look up from her phone often enough to see someone waving aggressively at her. So I texted her.

The One Cousin (Sal)

LOOK UP ASSHOLE

She responded very quickly, WITHOUT LOOKING UP.

The One Cousin (Sal)

what do you want?

I need people, ok? I don't want to be a loner again

get a girlfriend. or a boyfriend. or whatever the fuck

Fuck off

do you want my help?

Fine yes. Can I sit with u?

Yeah I don't care

How polite of her.

I crossed the lawn and stood over her. She finally looked up, poked my knee like she did when we were little, and I sat down beside her.

"Hey, Sal."

"Jordan. How's life?"

I think she was actually interested?

"I dunno. Just got here."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

A dude with pink hair piped up. "Who are you?" He didn't sound rude. He sounded genuinely curious.

"They're my cousin." Sally had seen my 'they/them' pin that I was wearing. Aw. She doesn't hate me.

"Cool! I'm Greg." He stretched his hand out, and I shook it. He seemed nice. I liked him.

Everyone introduced themselves. There was an emo guy named John (I feel like that's some kind of oxymoron, and I love that). He was cool. I liked him. There was a really tall ginger guy called Mike. Maybe Michael. Maybe fuckin' Michelle. I dunno. Either way, cool. I liked him. There was a girl named Irene, and she was basically a walking advertisement for lesbianism. She had a choker in the colours of the lesbian flag, lesbian flag platforms, and a rainbow satchel. She was really cool. I liked her. There was a blonde dude named Sebastian, Seb for short. He was pretty quiet. I liked him. A short dude was called Jim. James. Jimothy (ha). He was basically rolling down the hill the whole time. He was weird. I liked him. Sally's boyfriend is Phillip, who I've met before. He's weaselly. I don't like him. Finally, there was a guy who barely spoke. He was randomly plucking on a violin. His name was Sherlock, and he suited that name very well. I think I liked him. But I have no idea yet.
