Normani is anxious as she tries to mentally go back over the list she made. A checklist with her toiletries, shoes, shirts, pants and products.
She's freaking herself out. At age 20 this is her first on a plane alone. She's flying for a wedding in New York. Her older sister who was basically married to a Steve Jobs guys. White collar, good career. They were very excited for their wedding and so was Normani because she saw her older sister suffer a lot emotionally with men.
"I love you too mama, I'll be safe.... Promise." Normani answered her mother's call right before she passed through customs and had to get her suitcase searched.
It was a carry on since a Normani was only there for the wedding and the wedding only. She would quickly have to return to work after the weekend.
The intimidating part was having to do this alone. Her younger sister, Ryan was set to accompany her but there were issues with her flight at the last moment so she will arrive right before the wedding, about 3 hours prior. She finally arrived to her gate about an hour early so she found a random seat right by the doors so that there would be no possibility of her missing this flight.
About 20 minutes later a blonde with three suitcases stumbled crazily.
"Hey, I'm here for the flight that goes to Atlanta!"
"Ma'am, that flight departed 2 hours ago. This flight is going to LaGuardia in New York."
She immediately goes into panic mode. Normani pops one earbud out to discreeetly hear the tea.
"No, no, no, no. That must be a mistake!"
The young woman looks defeated as she asks to speak to someone for some help. Continuing to insist that a mistake had been made.
"Ma'am, what's your name? We can help you to the side." One of the gate attendants waves his hand over and insists she follows him to the computer on the desk. "The gate will open soon, so we may have to have you go to another gate for help."
"I don't care but I just need to get to Atlanta, now!"
"Ma'am calm down, we will assist you as quickly as we can." The gate attendant is clearly becoming annoyed.
The woman has kept her cool the whole point but she was nearly shivering with anxiety. Normani put her earbud back on, truly feeling sorry for her. Considering how busy the airport is today, she understands the girl's friustrations.
The blonde sat across from her after being "assisted", she had been refunded but the only place that would be able to get her a flight to Atlanta would be the Laguardia airport in New York. She was so anxious and she had to call her friend to soothe her concern. They were going on a girls trip because They finally had an opening due to work. But they were on the plane to Atlanta.
