Amarah's POV/ thoughts
Hey, my name is Amarah Smith. I'm seventeen and I'm now a senior. I can't wait to start my last year of school.
I live in California and I love that since it's warm all the time. My best friends are Bailey and Omar. My siblings are Deion, Marcus, and Deayana. Marcus and Deayana are twins.
But enough about them.
I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom and turned the shower water on. I didn't feel like taking a shower last night so I'm taking one this morning.
I went back to my room to get undressed. Then by the time I get back to the bathroom the shower water will be hot.
As I got into the shower I started thinking about how this year will be like. This is the year I get to be at school with all my siblings again. Deion is a junior, Marcus and Deayana are freshmen and I'm a senior.
I got out the shower a few minutes later, I'm not the type of girl to take forever in the shower.
"Oh my God, Amarah, I'm finally a high schooler!!" Deayana said as she hugged me.
"You're all grown up." I laughed. "But let me get dressed." I walked to my room and shut it.
I put on my undergarments and then lotion and deodorant. Then put on bleached shorts and a purple crop top that doesn't show too much of my stomach and a flannel wrapped around my waist. My outfit is cute enough for the first day.
I went outside my room into the hallways at the same time as my sister. We were wearing almost the same thing, except she was wearing a black leather shirt. We laughed.
Then Deion came out the room, he wasn't even dressed yet.
"What up, junior?" I said.
"Shut up," Deion said.
I playfully rolled my eyes and we went downstairs to eat. I could tell my mom was cooking.
Marcus came out of the basement.
"What were you doing down there?" My mom asked.
"I fell asleep down there."
We all sat down at the kitchen table.
"Happy first day of school my little high schoolers," my mom said.
The boys groaned as Deayana and I cheered.
"Wow, for being twins, you guys couldn't be anymore different," Deion said.
-----
We all left out the house more than a half hour later.
We all walked to the bus stop. The only people at the bus stop are me and my siblings. It used to be just me and Deion but now Marcus and Deayana are in high school.
We got on the bus. I noticed that Deayana followed me to the back.
"Oh hell no. Just because I'm your sister and I'm a senior, doesn't mean you get a free pass to the back."
"Girl please, come on let me just sit back there for a day," Deayana said. I shook my hear. "Then why is Marcus sitting back there?" she complained. I looked back and saw Marcus sitting with Deion.
"Marcus, get up right now!"
He shook his head. I rolled my eyes.
"Please?" Deayana begged. I sighed. "Fine."
She smiled and sat in the second to last seat, across from Deion and Marcus. I sat next to her.
Then my best friend came on the bus the next bus stop later.
"BAILEY!!" I shouted.
"Ow!" My siblings said at once. "You're so loud, my ears are ringing," Deayana said.
"You should've sat in the front then."
Bailey came rushing towards me. I stood up to give her a hug. Then she sat down in the seat in front of me.
"You look cute Bailey, you're butt got bigger over the summer," Deion said. I mugged him and Bailey laughed. He's been flirting with her for the longest. To be honest, they'd actually be a cute couple, even though it's better when the boy is older than the girl.
-----
Soon we got to school. Each grade waited in a big line in front of the school for there schedules.
"Amarah!" Miles said, a guy in my grade.
"Hey!" I gave him a hug, he was like the class clown last year. He started moving his hand down my back. "Don't get smacked," I warned. He let go.
"Wassup, Amarah?" Jaheem said. I gave him a fist bump I smiled at him.
It's so nice to see all these familiar faces.
"Bailey." I started breathing fast. "I'm so scared, I want to be in the same class," I said.
"I know."
"Name?" One of the staff members said.
"Amarah Smith."
She gave me my schedule.
About fifteen seconds later Bailey got her schedule.
"Here!" I said as I shoved my schedule in her face while looking the other way with my eyes shut being all dramatic.
"Ow! My eye!!!"
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," I apologized.
"No, I hate you," Bailey said as she rubbed her eye. I playfully rolled my eyes.
Then she read my schedule and hers.
I turned around and crossed my fingers. "Please be in the same class, please be in the same class," I said over and over again quietly.
I turned back around and Bailey dropped our schedules and stared at me.
Uh oh, we're not in the same classes.
Then she started to smile. "We're in the same classes together!!!"
"Yay!!!" I shouted. We hugged each other.
-----
About ten minutes later everyone settled into their homerooms.
I sat next to Bailey in the back.
As I looked around, I knew some people and others, not that much. But I know we'll all be a big happy family towards the middle of the year, like every year.
"Hello, students. I am Mr. Samuels. This is my first year here--"
"Aww, I hear this was Mrs. Allen's class last year, I was looking forward to having her, my cousin said she's nice," Bailey whispered to me.
Then I noticed Mr. Samuels, was staring at me. I looked around to make sure he wasn't staring at Bailey or the person behind me. Nope, he was looking at me.
Chris' POV/ thoughts
(A/N: Mr. Samuels' first name is Chris by the way)
As I was speaking I noticed this beautiful girl in the back. I know it was wrong, but I just couldn't keep my eyes off of her.
