Ever since Sophie arrived in the Lost Cities, Dex had taken an interest in her. When his feelings were not reciprocated, he turned to his second interest: her Ipod. It had always intrigued him and made his hands itch to fiddle with it. When Sophie trusted him with it, he did more than just make adjustments to it. He loved playing with its wires and charging it. It was fun. So he made Sophie a new one, transferred all its information to the new one, and gave it to Sophie. To this day, she does not realize that her original ipod sits on Dex's desk.
