The people of Cloud Kingdom started slowly dispersing and going back to doing their own thing, but I was still standing in the middle of the square, my jaw on the ground. Rover walked to me, before lightly tapping my shoulder.
"I wasn't expecting you to pass either, but we should really get going." Rover said and took my hand before heading back towards the way we came from. I let him drag me all the way back to our room as I processed things silently.
I'm in Cloud Kingdom. I'm a writer of destiny. HEEEEEEEEEEEELLL YEEEAAAAHHHH!!! This is so much better than heaven!! I ended up smiling to myself as I sat down on my bed. There was a moment of silence before Rover let out a loud cheer.
"Yeeees!!! I made it! W-We made it!!!" He was so excited about becoming a writer of destiny that he completely ignored my stupid grinning face. After Rover did a few rounds of celebrating around the room, he suddenly stopped and went over to the door and called to me.
"I'm sorry! I almost forgot about the after party they're having in the dining hall. I know you aren't interested so I'll just go now, bye!" He called as I gave him a small wave. I was slowly starting to understand what was going on, and I laid down on my bed with a content smile.
"Well, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Do I have like working hours or am I supposed to just start writing in those weird destiny scrolls or whatever they call them?" Then I stopped, and remembered something fairly important.
"The ninja..." The ninja are going to come here. And that head writer who most likely hates me for whatever reason I don't know of... Ah! He's the traitor! The one that made a deal with Morro. That means the ninja haven't been here yet. YES!!!
But what am I supposed to about that? Nothing, I guess. I just let the things happen when they happen. I should be glad I got my throat back to normal, so I might just take it easy for now. Maybe I should try to get used to this lifestyle until the ninja get here.
I rose up to a sitting position, before taking the new pair of clothes the head writer had given me. Uhhhh, he had a name as well, I think. Henrick? Hen- no Fen? Fenrick? Ah! Fenwick!!!
I examined the clothes Fenwick had given me. They looked identical to the 80% of all other pairs of clothing I had seen today. I bet Rover received a similar pair. I changed into the new clothing before I looked around the room, but I couldn't find a mirror where I could see myself from anywhere.
Well, no can do about that, what's next? Thinking about it, I did receive two other things from Fenwick as well. I looked at the at the scroll and the book I had set on the side of my bed, before picking the book up.
I remember Fenwick calling it the 'Golden book of Cloud Kingdom'. Everyone got one of these as well. The cover was a dark brown, but the name was printed on it with gold. I turned to the first page of the book... It was rules. Rules, regulations, and tips for working, and it seems there are some instructions for courtesy and politeness. Scrolling through the book, I read a few ones at random.
"No trespassing into other writing halls without explainable reason." Ugh, boring. But basic enough.
"The night curfew is from 8 pm to 6 am, only those on the night shift may be outside during those times." A curfew too... still fairly basic.
"Those of higher standing should be called by their tittle. Those of lower and the same standing can be called by name." Alright, I better learn to be polite as well, other wise I might grow to be hated. But enough of the rules, what's with the scroll?
I closed the book and threw it aside before opening the scroll. It was almost empty, except for the name written in black ink. It was some random NPC name I really couldn't care less about. But I just closed the scroll, and unlike the book, set in neatly back on my bed. I then picked the book up once again.
