The minute I got in he sat me down on his black leather couch and sat across from me in a chair that he pulled from the dining room table.
"What happened, doll?" The man asked me. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. A term of endearment slipped from his mouth and it weirded me out, as if he just looked at me and found out he was in love with me.
"Do you know where you are, doll?" He asked another question, again with the term of endearment. I wanted to tell him I wasn't a doll but nothing came out. I moved my hands as if I was saying 'eh'. He nodded.
"You're in Aegearean Kingdom." He said. I probably look confused because he asked.
"You're not from around here, are you?" I shook my head, and started moving my trembling lips.
"I am the King of Death's wife who is from a planet called Earth." I declared with a shaky voice. He looked shocked at first and then shook his head.
"Which one, King Ace or the imposter?" He asked and grimaced when he said my exes name.
"King Ace, but Adam had me for a while. But then he disappeared." I said more confidently than I did in my last sentence.
He looked shocked and then pride overtook his face.
"My name is Agni, your highness." He said bringing my hand up to his lips. I shook my head.
"I'm not higher than you, I am equal to you. Do not mistake me for being a leader because I can assure you I am not." I said with frustration in my voice.
"You sure seem like a queen to me." He said with a thick accent in his voice. The man was tall and had a head full of thick brown hair, his eyes were the deepest brown I had ever seen. And he was wearing jeans and a large t-shirt. But it still seemed tight on his muscular body.
He was attractive I will admit but he was nothing compared to Ace.
"I am no queen. I don't belong here. I want to get back home." I demanded, knowing that he didn't have a single clue how I got here or how I could get back to my home.
"You are the queen of Deafronds, land of the dead, and this is your home." He didn't seem angry or frustrated but he was very demanding as if trying to tell me to snap out of it.
"I can't go back to Ace, at least not yet." But I already felt the affects of being away from him for too long. I was feeling dreary and hopeless and absolutely empty.
"I think you're already feeling the affects of being away from your soulmate for too long though, so it can't be for more than a month."
I nodded at what he said, that should be more than enough time for me to get over this.
He nodded and started towards the door. I looked at him like he was nuts. Is he seriously going to leave me here all alone, he barely knows me!? What if I was lying?! I thought to myself but then he cleared his throat.
"You need to train, knowing our king and his protective instincts he has been making you train so I'm going to show you to the track where you can spend most of your time training while I set up a room for you." He said with a big grin on his face.
"Thank you Agni." I sighed softly. I followed him out the door and we started walking towards the forest. When we headed into the forest it disappeared like the night sky does in daytime.
When it disappeared it revealed a track. A beautiful professional track. It looked a little worn, but that was probably because it had been used so much.
I was in awe. How could something so beautiful be so hidden away? I thought at the time. Agni saw the adoration and awe on my face and laughed. He started running towards the track and a few seconds later I did too.
We were racing towards the track, me going 20 miles an hour while he was going 10 because he was so tall. He wasn't as tall as Ace but they were all giants compared to me.
I am overexaggerating of course but it felt like I was flying while I was on the ground. Agni seemed surprised that I was faster than him.
That's when I realized, I missed Ace. More than I have ever missed anybody. More than I missed Adam and it's tearing me apart. I loved him, I knew from that point forward, that I could never leave him again after this. It would just be too painful to bear.
When I got to the track, I started running even more. I was trying to get this feeling out of my head. What is wrong with me? I thought to myself. This guy practically kidnapped me out of my home and I was falling in love him him. If that's not Stockholm Syndrome than I don't know what Stockholm Syndrome is. I thought to myself.
I was always stuck in my head back then, never seeming to get back down to earth. My dark frizzy red hair was drifting behind me as I went against the current we all call wind.
The wind in my hair while each movement with my legs make my side hurt. I wince in pain with each step I take but I go faster each and every time my legs hit the ground.
"Doll, you have to tell me your name. So I know what to call you by and we also got to head back. It's going to get dark soon." He said. I nodded and told him my name.
"Ayuna. That is my name." I told Agni.
"Queen Ayuna, let's get you back so you can have your royal slumber." He said jokingly. Although I know he's being sarcastic I can't help but feel as though he is mocking me for being a queen.
A literal queen though, it was definitely a shock but I already knew I was even when I was with Adam but knowing I am a true queen now because I am married to the true King of Death just took my breath away. It pounded against my insides and pushed more weight onto my back and I soon would break under all of the pressure. I knew that, but I had Ace to help me through it.
