As I stood there looking across the battlefield at the army of evil, I couldn't help but wonder, what brought us to this? What happened to our kingdom? It was long before material creation. It was the beginning of heaven's downfall.
It was a time like any other, demons bickering like they always do, making another tedious brawl break out. Another usual day in heaven. As I was walking through the darkness I bumped into another soul, an angel in the dark side of heaven, they were running from a pack of demons, without watching where they were going. When the demons saw me they froze, afraid of approaching.
"C'mon my lord" pleaded the first demon, obviously a demon of sadism, "you gotta at least let us have an angel every once in a while." the other demons agreed.
"I don't have to do anything," I retorted, pulling the angel behind me, "including allowing you to exist." I clutch my blade, Armageddon, "Do you wish to question me more?"
The demons ran cowering and spitting curses towards me. I turned to the angel, it was of the female orientation. She was still quivering in fear, poor thing. I took her to my castle for safety but, I couldn't help but wonder why she was here, where demons dwell, alone. We got to the castle of darkness, which although it's gray, it looks white in comparison to the rest of the dark. We entered the main hall, it had chandeliers of pure flame and looked almost like it was made of gold or amber.
"A-are you a demon lord?" she asked timidly.
"I am not. I am curious what brought you here?" I inquired as I sat her down in the main room, "no one should be here alone it's dangerous, if I had not been there, you surely would have ceased to exist or worse. So, tell me, why would you come here alone?"
"I-I was looking for the demon that destroyed my friend" she answered, "so I could show them forgiveness."
This answer surprised me, no angel has ever wanted to show a demon forgiveness, nor has a demon cared. I thought it best that I should formally introduce myself and maybe offer some assistance.
I said, "Well I don't know how they will react but, I may be of some help to you. You see, I am Draconis, Ruler of Demons."
"I-I-I didn't expect it to be you, Lord Draconis. I-I'm Talyah, angel of mercy." She bows in reverence and slightly out of fear.
"Rise." I commanded, raising my hand, "We can search for your demon when everything calms down. Until then I suggest you make yourself comfortable and regain your strength. We have a big search ahead of us."
Out of the corner of my eye I notice a shadow lurking. It was Dameon, the Lord of Sadism and also one of my most trusted demon lords. His form seems to resemble a wolf but, standing taller than any man. I waved him over and as he approached, I said, "This is my most trusted demon lord, Dameon." I turn to him, "Can you watch this angel and make sure she's safe whilst she rests?"
He asks, "Why are you harboring an angel? You usually just send them out of the darkness and warn them never to come back."
I glared at him, the kind of glare that if looks could kill it would do so, slowly. I ordered, "I will do as I will, and you will carry out my will." he nodded and began patrolling.
I turned back to Talyah, "when you are ready, you need only call my name and I will be there." she thanked me, and I left the room.
