I finished getting myself ready for school and reached inside my bag for the camcorder. I did not need this getting lost, tossed around, stolen, or broken at school, so I decided to leave it on my dresser. Me and Kat were going to the store after school to pick up a charger for it so I could finally see what type of video was left on there.

Trisha dropped me, Tilly, and Thomas off at school and we parted ways and headed inside. My first class was P.E., so I got changed and started on my warmups. Kat took a seat next to me, "Hey, how's it going?"

I turned to her, "I'm just trying to wake up. I'm still so tired after last night. Oh, I meant to ask, everything go smoothly for you when you got home?"

"Yeah, I only had to climb the side of my house and get my hair stuck in a tree branch to get back inside through my window. It was like I never left", she said sarcastically but with a smile on her face.

I put my head down, "Sorry again for asking you to come along. I know that this is something I have to take care of myself."

She hit my arm softly, "Hey, if it wasn't for me, you probably wouldn't have even found the place, so you're lucky I did come along. And you don't have to keep apologizing. Ultimately, it's up to me to decide if I wanna help or not. And you're my friend. I'm gonna help you no matter what. Just try not to get us killed in the process."

I laughed and continued my stretches. Our gym teacher, Coach Aarons, informed us that we were going to be doing the PACER test. Everyone in class groaned because they knew that this test was exhausting. The test progressively got more difficult as it continued and I don't think I knew of anyone who passed it. I was physically fit but I absolutely hated running. This test was all about running back and forth as many times as you could, with each lap signaled by an annoying beeping noise.

I always despised my schedule because who thought it was a good idea to take P.E. first thing in the morning? Other than that, I was pretty okay with my classes. After gym, I had government, then choir, and after choir got out that's when I'd go to lunch b. After lunch, I had a free period, then history and I'd finish the day with my physics class.

The coach told us all to line up and get ready to start running. I sucked it up and put my back against the wall. Kat looked over at me, "Come on, it'll be over before you know it. And this will definitely wake you up."

She was trying to joke around but I seriously hated this. I took a deep breath and as soon as the coach blew his whistle, I took off and began running. Some kids were trying to show off with how fast they were running at the beginning, but slow and steady wins the race, or so I've heard.

Anyway, class was eventually over and we hit the showers to change and I started making my way to government. Government was always a breeze, but I sat in front of these two guys who never stopped talking no matter how much our teacher asked them to. I would even try to shush them, but they'd just kick my chair or tell me to shut up too. They were the type of people who thought it was cool to disrespect a teacher. I think they did it cause she was an old lady too, so she wouldn't be able to do much against them. I always felt bad for her.

As I entered her classroom, she handed me a little piece of paper and instructed me not to open it and to just sit down in my seat. I gave her a weird look but respected her wishes. The class soon filled up after me and she finally shut her door. The boys behind me were already chatting loudly and I just rolled my eyes at them.

Ms. Garrison stood at the front of the class, "Today, we're going to be doing a murder mystery simulation. Now when you came in, I handed all of you a card. This card will give you a description of your character and will let you know if you're innocent, guilty, or if you know about the crime in some way. It's your job to find out who murdered Carol Fritz. There are clues scattered around the classroom that'll help you find out who to talk to and where to look. You may even find the murder weapon with fingerprints on it. I expect this to take up the remainder of the class time and I want you all to turn in a separate sheet of paper and let me know who you think the murderer is. Tomorrow, we'll be seeing who you all have decided and we'll begin our government trial. This class will be a courtroom and there we'll see if your skills are sharp or if you've accused an innocent person and have them punished for a crime they did not commit. You may begin!"
