The girl would fall back into the grass of the meadows and stare up at the sky, taking a deep long breath before exhaling. "Isn't it all Beautiful?" The girl would say before sitting up and continuing, "They say that the stars have all the answers and stories of the universe do you think that's true?" She would finally finish then took a glance at her friend, Max. Max sat up and looked towards Phionna with an anxious expression as he hugged his legs.

"Yeah...I guess..but that's a story the elders tell us.." Max responded as he looked up at the stars. It was a beautiful night without any clouds in the way. Max sighed, "Look..Phionna..we can't go out there..we never will be able to go.." He would say. Phionna only looked at him with determination and got up, along with picking up the bag that she placed next to her.

"Well I'm taking a ship and I'm leaving tonight..feel free to come with me or not..but I'm leaving this planet Max..I can't stay here. I won't stay here for the rest of my life! You have to know that.." Phionna said, her voice filled with sadness but as well as a spark of something that Max couldn't quite figure out or understand, because he would never know what lay there in the heart of a dreamer and adventurer.

Max was astonished by his friend's bravery, he admittedly thought it was quite brave and impressive but he knew what Phionna was doing was far more dangerous than how she made it seem. Max got up quickly and shook his head. "NO! You can't go Phionna!" Max would hiss, he was always the calm one who tried to make sure Phionna was kept out of trouble and he was always the more logical one out of the two.

"What about your mom? Or dad?" Phionna simply stared at Max. "Max..you know how my parents feel about me..mom hates me because I mess up too much..and dad, he..he doesn't understand anything, he rather have me go play with my friends than acknowledge me.." Phionna replied to her friend. Max stood there quiet and ashamed that he had forgotten that tiny detail about Phionna and her home life. Max would stand there thinking for a few moments before looking up at Phionna and speaking.

"Okay...I'll go..but don't expect me to do anything crazy and let me get my stuff ready first..." Phionna would smile at this and nod her head. "Do whatever you need! But hurry, I'm leaving tonight.." Max nodded his head and rushed to hug Phionna tightly. Tears would run down his cheeks as he let her go and wipe the tears. "You're such a baby!" Phionna would tease Max before giving him a quick hug. "Okay now go.."
Max would nod his head and soon he would run to his house.

Max's house was quite a few minutes away, through the forest, then a few more steps after. He lived in a very poor neighborhood, it was practically falling apart and crumbling. Max didn't mind it however, as long as his dad brought food for him and his two sisters to eat then he'd be more than happy, he just wanted food, shelter, and a good family to satisfy him.

He always thought family was the best, and as such he shouldn't ask for anything more. Max would then quietly sneak through the streets that were cracking due to the extreme heat of the summer, then he would sneak towards his house.

Max would be the most careful as to not wake anyone up as he climbed the vines that grew on his house that lead to his room. Max would quietly open the window and slip through, quietly hitting the soft pillows that were specifically placed there to make sure he didn't make a sound while sneaking out of the house after hours. Max would then quietly make his way through the darkly lit room as he grabbed a backpack and stuffed anything he thought was important in there.

The items he grabbed was a flashlight, the charger for it, his comfort stuffie, alongside his blanket. He would also pack some clothes, food he had hidden in his room, as well as any other comfort items. He didn't have much but the stuff he did have, he loved.

Max would then make his way towards the window. Once he reached the window he looked back at his bedroom door and stood there, staring at the door, thinking this all through again. "I have to be there for her.." He would tell himself. Max would then shake his head and bring out his flashlight and a paper.

He would write a simple goodbye note to his family, letting them know how much he loved them, and he'll be sure to visit or come back in the near future and that he's only going to be away for a little while to help Phionna find a permanent and lovely home where she is loved and cared for.

He would smile at his heart-felt letter that gave him a little bit more peace to the horrible anxiety he was feeling at the moment as he got up from his bedroom floor and climbed down the vines once more with the three backpacks he had packed and made his way towards the forests with a heavy load, a aching back, and determination to help his friend. Max didn't know what would happen in the future, but it didn't matter because Phionna would be there with him, even if she made up the most bizarre plans. He found peace with it in the end, he always did somehow.
