My mom turns around and embraces me into a hug, I feel like I'm home when I'm in her arms.

"You came a little late baby ,but I'm almost dishing up "
she says while she makes touch ups on the food .

"Uhmm ,mom how many people are we having, cause the food is more than enough for the three of us " she looks at me a little shocked

"Ohh, well we are having your fathers business partners hunny " welp ,this is new ,my father leaves work at the office and when he comes home it's family Time

It's always been his rule.

"But ,mom, why am I needed then! when he's only gonna discuss business " I'm starting to get bored of the idea of having this dinner.

"Well hunny, you know...."She doesn't look at me in the eyes ,she's avoiding me ,this makes me think that something is wrong ,"uhm you are your fathers only child and I know you chose the medical field but, you know in the near future you are gonna take over "

"But ,mom ,I'm not interested in that now ,I want to live my life now and focus on my career mom!!,I need to be independent "

She looks very sad ,but I don't focus on it ,because I know she'll say it's nothing.

"I know ,baby but you need to make sure that family comes first in everything baby, you are my baby and I love you ,but sometimes you have to grow up and take certain responsibility".

I look at her hazel eyes , she seems on the verge of tears, my mom has very curly natural hair, but it's so soft, she has wide hips and her brown skin looks so rich, I mean I do have my mommas curves.

She is wearing a blue floral dress, it highlights her wide hips and medium size waist and her Hair is done in a long ponytail.

I try to speak, but she beats me to it

"Isa ,forget about it ,your father will be here soon with his guest, just behave please and no matter what I love you ,and remember FAMILY COMES FIRST."

"Ok " I sigh. God only knows what will happen.

My father came home , he gave me hug and a kiss on the forehead.

He's complaining about how I'm not taking care of myself, and me not coming enough at home .

He sat down on the head of the table and my mother next to him.

He looks at me and smile but I feel ,like there's going to be a bomb on this table, it's about to go down!

I say thank you and I can feel the tension in the room .

"Well ....."my father starts to speak, he's wearing a three peice suit, and it's visible on his eyes that his exhausted.

He has blue eyes ,well I know you might be wondering why he has them, the truth is his half white and half black, his mother, my grandmother is white and has Italian roots,and his father is black. So it's the reason of him having blue eyes.

"Isa , I think your mother told you why you are here ,Right! "

I nod my head "but Dad I didn't see it necessary for y'all to call me here.because anything that has to do with the company you take decisions father. No need for me."

"Well ,my little flower, this discussion concerns you alot, because the company has not been doing very well " my father says
