finally
thursday 23rd august
the first match leading up to nationals
straykids vs ateez
the boys have been preparing for this for a long time, if they win this match they can move onto the qualifiers and hopefully make their way up to nationals
they needed this win
jisung needed this win
ever since he was a kid he dreamed of being a volleyball player, he's been working hard his whole life to get here right now
to think that nationals is only a few games away blew his mind, if only little jisung could see him now
jisung always had a talent for volleyball, it was his love, his passion and he was damn good at it
he was already known nationally for his incredible skills, now all he needed to do was make it
just win from here on out
if he could win nationals he would for sure get signed to a team, there were already lots of eyes on him in the professional scene
the insane rookie is what he's called
yet he still feels like he's not good enough
his constant drive to be better pushes him past peoples expectations, but never past his own.
and never past his father's..
jisung has achieved so much, it truly is incredible how skilled he is and everyone can see that
but not once has his father ever praised him
i mean in jisung's entire 18 years of living he never once has told him that he's proud of him.
no matter what he does, whether its getting high grades or winning tournaments his father never seems to be pleased
this hurts
"hey beautiful what you thinking about" a voice asked gently, sitting down next to him on the bench
jisung looked up at the boy who was staring at him softly, it felt unusual.
as if he actually cared...?
"minho, i'm not in the mood right now please go away" he replied sternly, but it came out at almost a whisper
"the match starts in 20 minutes man, talk to me" the older relaxed leaning forward to stretch out his knees
jisung studied his face carefully, he's never properly looked at minho up until this moment
he gazed taking in every small detail of the boy, he was incredibly attractive and something about his genuine concern for jisung heightened this
maybe he actually does have a heart
jisung internally chuckled
he only ever saw minho as a cold hearted asshole. but lately he was discovering this new side to him
soft, gentle and sad
he couldn't help but remember how broken he looked the other day, it hurt jisung's heart
as much as he hated the boy he still felt bad for him, he hated seeing anyone upset
as he studied his face his eyes wandered over a scar that travelled across the older's right cheek
it was fairly big, jisung's curiosity grew
he wondered about minho's life, what had happened for him to get that scar. what was lee minho really like~
