it's been a few months since the Cullen's left. it was now January. a couple of times Sam Uley the alpha of the wolf pack would visit and give us updates on any vampire activity since me and my sisters were the only Cullen's left living in the lands. since we're human, I allowed Sam to patrol the lands on our side that way we can be safe and work together in the process. I met Jared a couple of times. he and Embry usually visit for food or to hang out. at first, we hated the wolves but Jared and Embry were sweet. they were nice and jokesters. at first, I was confused with Jared. he acted weird with Scarlett. eventually, I brought this up with Sam, and turns out Jared imprinted on Scarlett. I had heard of imprinting before but never fully knew what it was. I told Sam and Jared I wouldn't Tell Scarlett as long Jared eventually tells her. Recently Scarlett has been nice to the boys and it seems her and the two wolves became friends. I'm not complaining at least Scarlett is back to her normal self now. I haven't met Quil and Jacob. Quil was new and was still learning. Jacob was also new but according to Embry he's too busy with Bella to pay me any mind. I seen Paul in his wolf form in the woods from time to time but he doesn't like my sisters and I simply because Cullen was a part of our name. he doesn't get to close to the house so. "sup, Riv." Jared spoke as he and Embry walked into the living room of our house as I was cleaning. "hi, Boys." I spoke as the two sat down. "aren't you two supposed to be on patrol?" I asked. "yeah but Paul is pissed so we're steering clear of his rampage." Embry spoke as I nodded. "hi, Emie, Jare." Scarlett smiled as she and Selene walked in. "hi." Jared smiled as he looked at Scarlett while Embry smirked at him while Selene went into the kitchen. soon enough Sam walked in. "miss, Cullen." he spoke as I stared at him. "Monroe. not Cullen." I said as he nodded. "what is it, Sam?" I asked. "we found traces of Victoria in La push." he spoke as I narrowed my eyes. "Victoria? the redhead?" I asked as Sam simply nodded as Selene and Scarlett sat down on the couch. "great. is she closer to us?" I asked. "no. but you should still be cautious." he said as I gave him a look. "I was raised by vampires. I know how to be cautious with vamps." I said as Sam raised his hands in defense. "I'm just saying." he spoke before leaving as I finished cleaning in the living room.

a couple days later Bella practically ran into our house. "I want you to come with me." She spoke as I stared at her. "why?" I asked. "because my friend Jacob as been ignoring me and I need to know what's going on with him and you might know. where's Selene and Scarlett?" she asked. "Selene is on a date and Scarlett is at a cheer meet." I answered. before I could say anything else Bella dragged me outside. I sighed as I got in her car. she was driving like crazy up until she hit the brakes suddenly once we were at Jacobs house. she got out the car as I stuck my head out the window. "I'll stay here!" I shouted as she stormed into the house. I shook my head as Billy Black came onto the front porch waving at me as I stuck my head out the window. "what are you doing here, River?" he shouted. "she dragged me here!" I shouted back as I saw Sam, Jared, and Embry in the distance with another guy who looked my age. I'm assuming he's Paul. Bella then came out of the house and basically ran towards then. "Oh shit." I mumbled before stumbling out of the car and running after her. "what did you do?" she shouted before pushing Sam. the other boys gathered protectively behind Sam. I ran up to Bella and grabbed her arm. "you are such a dumbass." I spoke as I made eye contact with the boy I hadn't met and he looked at me dazed while Sam tried to calm down everyone. "he didn't want this." Bella shouted as the boy came out of his daze and glared at her. "what did we do? what did he do? what did he tell you." the boy breathed clearly pissed. "both of you calm down." "nothing he tells me nothing cause he's scared of you." Bella interrupted Sam as I sighed before Jared and the boy laughed which....resulted in Bella hitting the unnamed boy. I instantly pulled her away from the boys and stood in front of her as the boy glared at her while breathing heavily. "girls get back. Paul. calm. down." Sam warned as I pushed Bella back while still standing in front of her as the boy who I now know as Paul let out in humane growls. he soon turned into a large grey wolf and growled towards us. Bella then grabbed my hand and started running towards Jacobs house. I wasn't really scared. well, at least for my well being. mainly for Bella's despite my hatred towards her. Jacob ran out of the house as we ran. he soon jumped over us both and turned into a large brown wolf. Bella fell to the ground as we turned and watched Jacob and Paul fighting until they disappeared into the woods with faints snarls and growls. I watched before turning to Bella and helping her stand. "you make some of the dumbest decisions ever." I scolded as Bella gave me a confused look. "you knew? you knew werewolves are real?" she asked as I rolled my eyes. "first off, shifters not werewolves, and second off, of course I knew I grew up with a vampire family." I said glaring at her as she sighed while Jared and Embry ran up to us while Sam disappeared into the woods. "we got to take you two to Emily's." Embry spoke as Jared smiled at me. "who is that?" I asked as we walked to the truck. "Sam's Fiancé." Jared answered as he and I sat in the back of the truck while Embry got in the drivers seat and Bella in the passenger seat.

Eventually we drove up to an old house. It looked cozy and very homey. The boys instantly got out of the car as Bella shouted from the window. "Maybe we should go back and see if Jacobs is okay!" I rolled my eyes as Embry came to the back of the truck and grabbed me by my waist and helped me down and out of the truck and we walked to the house slowly. "I hope Paul sinks his tears into him. Serves him right." Jared boasted about his friend. "No way. Jacobs is a natural. I bet five bucks Paul doesn't even touch him." Embry smiled as Jared nodded to the bet. "Can you two shut up. And Bella get out of the truck." I spoke sternly as Bella reluctantly stepped out of her truck and walked to us. "By the way. Don't stare at Emily. It bugs Sam." Embry spoke as I nodded. I had heard of Emily. I knew she was Sam's imprint and cared for the pack deeply. "Why would I stare?" Bella asked, looking at me as I shrugged before we all walked into the house. The boys sat down at the main table as there was a woman not too much older than me as she gathered what looked like blueberry muffins. "You guys are hungry? Like I have to ask." She spoke before turning to me and Bella with a slight suspicious expression. "Who are they?" She asked. She was a Quileute girl with long dark hair and dark brown eyes with beautiful copper skin. She had about three long claw scars on her face. Despite the scars she was still beautiful. If anything it added to her beauty. I smiled awkwardly at her while the boys smiled. "This is Bella swan. And that is River, She doesn't use Cullen anymore." Jared laughed lightly as Emily nodded. "So...you're the vampire girls." Emily spoke as she continued gathering muffins. I tried not to put on a sour expression. I have nothing against the cullens it's just I dislike the lifestyles. "You must be the wolf girl." Bella spoke as I gave a weird glance but shook my head. "Must be. Well...an engaged one." Emily smiled as she set down a tray of blueberry muffins on the main table as the boys quickly moved to grab one but Emily slowed them. "Save some for your brothers and ladies first." She spoke before turning to me and Bella. "Muffins." She suggested as she motioned to them. Bella slowly grabbed one as I shook my head. Jared looked at me with a teasing smile. "What? Don't like muffins?" He smiled. "No. I'm just allergic to blueberries." I spoke, narrowing my eyes at him. "What how?" He asked in disbelief. "Genetics, Jare." I spoke bluntly as Emily smiled. I was spaced out for a good few minutes thinking about everything that's going on in my life. I was soon cut off though by a familiar voice. "Jacob's right. You are good with weird things." Sam spoke walking in slightly smiling before walking up to Emily and started hugging and kissing her. Then we all looked to the sound of laughter as Paul and Jacob walked up to the house smiling and pushing each other. Paul walked into the house fully before sitting down and smiling smugly at Bella. "Sorry." Before turning to me. "Didn't mean to scare ya." He looked at me up and down with a wide smile before turning and grabbing a muffin while Jared reluctantly gave Embry five dollars. I sighed not really caring about this whole situation as I looked at my watch. I shook my head before turning to Bella. "I'll wait in the truck." I spoke as she nodded at me before following Jacob out the house. I slowly walked away but was stopped. "Riv! Where you going?" Jared asked with a shout as I approached the doorway but turned to him. "Work. How else do you expect me to pay bills?" I spoke glaring at him jokingly. "Stay." He demanded as I gave him a look. "Why?" I asked, crossing my arms. "I don't know. To hang out. Made you and Emily trade cooking secrets or other things." He spoke while smirking as he glanced at Paul who glared at him. "I'll pass." I spoke as I walked out but noticed the boys whispering to each other while pointing to Paul and glancing at me all while Paul glared and softly growled at Jared. Soon I sat in Bella's truck sighing as I texted my manager saying I might be late before Sam walked up to the window. "River." He spoke as I looked at him. He didn't seem to be in his usual scowling expression but still had the tone of voice. "Yes?" I questioned half-heartedly. "Victoria is getting very close to your house. I'll drive you back." He spoke before opening the truck door letting me out. I sighed as I stepped out of the truck and followed him to his own truck. Once I was in his car and we drove to my place it was quiet. It wasn't awkward or comfortable. It was voided. Neither of us had anything to say but we were considered friends so it was painful to sit through. Eventually we made it to my house and I walked in after he drove out of the driveway and disappeared into the woods. I gathered my stuff before hearing a noise that sounded like something was climbing the trees. I looked out my bedroom window and searched the dark green scenery but saw nothing. I watched skeptically before returning to my bags and running out the house and off to work.
