Chapter 1: Angel and Photographs

[No one's point of view]

   Today was a day like any other. Y/n went to the photography club like she always did after classes and opened up her computer to flip through and clean up some photos she took a few days ago. As she was working on a particularly stubborn one, the club captain, Tora, came up to her.

[Y/n's point of view]

   Tora: "Hey, Y/n, can I interrupt you for a minute?"
   Y/n: "Sure. What is it?"
   Tora: "Would you mind taking pictures of the boys volleyball team for me? The school newspaper wants us to give them some pictures for an article they have written about the team, but I can't do it today. I have to pick up my little brother from primary school."
   Y/n: "Oh, sure. Sounds fun."
   Besides, it's a good excuse to stop editing this crappy picture to death. That picture could get deleted for all I care.
   Tora: "Thanks! I really appreciate it. Kiyoko can introduce you to the boys. I'll text her to let her know the plan. You know Kiyoko, right?"
   Y/n: "Yeah, we've talked a bit. She's in my class."
   Tora: "Great! Thanks again! Buh-bye now!
   Y/n: "See ya."
   I grab my camera and stand, then make my way over to the gym. I look around for Kiyoko. There she is, by the bench. I walk over.
   Y/n: "Hey, Kiyoko."
   Kiyoko: "Oh, hi Y/n."
   Y/n: "Is it okay if I set up my camera right around there?" I ask, pointing a little to the side, behind the bench.
   Kiyoko: "Mmhmm. That's fine."
   Y/n: "Great!"
   I start placing everything on the floor, getting ready to set up.
Kiyoko: "Before you set everything up though, why don't I introduce you to the boys?"
Y/n: "Oh, sure! That'd be great!"

[Tsukishima's point of view]

   Yamaguchi: "So with a floater ball you need to..."
   I could care less about how to do a floater ball correctly. My eyes start to wander a little around the gym. I watch Hinata hit Kageyama with the ball. Well, he's dead. My eyes drift away from their stupid fight and I see a girl. She's talking with Kiyoko. Who is she? She turns around. Wow. She's pretty. She looks like an angel.

[Yamaguchi's point of view]

   Yamaguchi: "...if you hit it at the right angle..."
   Did Kei stop listening? I look at him for a second and step to the side. His gaze stays where it was. Guess he was looking over my shoulder. I follow his gaze to find a girl I don't know.
   Yamaguchi: "You know her?"
   No response. I wave a hand in front of his face. Nothing. I walk in front of his line of vision.
   Yamaguchi: "Oi! Tsukishima."
   Kei: "Hmm?" he replied, snapping out of it. "What?"
   Yamaguchi: " I said, 'Do you know that girl?'"
   Kei: "No."
   Yamaguchi: "Yeah. I feel like I've seen her a few times before, but I don't know who she is either. Oh, hey! Looks like that girl and Kiyoko are coming over."
   I watch him stiffen up with nervousness. What's up with him? Kiyoko walks up with that other girl and introduces her.
   Kiyoko: "Boys, this is L/n Y/n. She's going to be taking pictures of you all while you're practicing. It's for the school newspaper. They asked the photography club to get them some pictures of everyone for their article."
   Yamaguchi: "Hi! I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi! Nice to meet you!"
   L/n: "Nice to meet you, too!" She turned to Tsukishima. "What's your name?"
   Tsukishima: "Shuki- I mean, Tsukishima Kei."
   L/n: "Nice name! May I call you Tsuki for short?"
   His cheeks turned bright red at the nickname.
   Tsuki: " Mmn."
   L/n: "Great! Nice to meet you guys!"
   Kiyoko led her over to Hinata and Kageyama to introduce them.

[Y/n's point of view]

   They seem nice. This is going to be fun! Kiyoko brings me over to two other guys. They look like they're fighting about something. When we walk up, the raven-haired boy was angrily squeezing the ginger-haired boy's head.
   Kageyama: "I told you that you need to watch wha-"
   Kiyoko: "Boys!"
   They immediately straightened up after looking over to Kiyoko and I. I giggled a little. She gave them the lowdown on why I was there.
   Kageyama: "Hi. I am Kageyama Tobio." The raven-haired boy said.
   Hinata: "Nice to meet you! I'm Shoyo Hinata! You can call me Hinata! Can I call you Y/n?"
   Wow. Well, isn't he just a little ball of energy?
   Y/n: "Sure! Great to meet you, too! You too, Kageyama!"
   Seeing Hinata's beaming smile and boundless bouncy energy makes me smile widely.
   Hinata: "So, you like to take pictures?"
   Y/n: "Yeah! I like to think of it as freezing a moment in time."
   Hinata: " It's like a super power!"
   Y/n: "I guess. It kind of is, isn't it?"

~Timeskip to warm-ups~

   I set up my camera equipment as the boys warm up.
   Y/n: "So, Kiyoko, the Ace isn't here?"
   Kiyoko: "He had something important to do, but he'll be here a little later."
   Y/n: "Okay. Sounds good."
   I finish setting everything up and watch the boys warm up. When they finished, they all walked over to the court. Once they started practicing, I started taking some pictures.
   Y/n: "Everyone here is really talented. It's impressive to see everyone's passion for the sport."
   Kiyoko: "Yeah. I agree. The guys work together and look out for each other like family."
   Y/n: "Who knew volleyball could bring people together like that? It's pretty amazing."
   Then Hinata does a crazy spike. *Click* *Bam*
   Y/n: "Yes!" I got him in midair!
   Sugawara: "That's game!" Sugawara announced.
   They walked over to take a drink and take a short break.
   Y/n: "Hey, Hinata! Come check out this picture of you! You look so cool!"

[Yamaguchi's point of view]

   Kei watches L/n talk with Hinata about his picture.
   Kei: "Tsk." He looks away, irked.
   Yamaguchi: "What's up?"
   Kei: "N-nothing." He said, with pink-dusted cheeks.
   He walks away to get some water. He's acting really weird today. Once we started the second game, I noticed Kei had this menacing aura around him as he glared across the net at Hinata. The sight sent chills up my spine. Good luck, Hinata.

[Kageyama's point of view]

   After playing for a while, I notice a change from last game. Tsukishima is way more intense. He's blocking with everything he has. As the game progresses, it gets harder and harder to set up shots with Tsukishima blocking. He's more determined than I've ever seen him before.

[Hinata's point of view]

   Tsukishima's really stepping it up today. It's great! The ball comes flying over the net! I try to receive it, but it goes off the court, right toward the camera equipment! Y/n jumps in the way and stops the ball, hitting the ground hard. The court goes silent.
   Y/n: "I'm good!" She smiles as she slowly gets up.
   We all let out a sigh of relief. Then, everyone's eyes locked on me. I feel all the blood drain from my face. Tsukishima gives me a look that could kill.

[Y/n's point of view]

   Kageyama storms up to Hinata and grabs his head.
   Kageyama: "What were you thinking?! I've told you a million ti-"
   Y/n: "Stop! It was an accident, yeah?" I say, trying to break up the fight.
   Hinata nods apologetically.
Daichi: "She's right. Let's continue the match." said the captain.
   Everyone listened and went back to their positions. Hinata walked up to me.
   Hinata: "Hey, I'm really sorry."
   Y/n: "It's fine! Everything ended up all right. Besides, anyone could've made that mistake." I tussle his hair and smile. "Now, go play some volleyball!"
   Hinata: "Okay!"
   Hinata ran over and they started back up. They went back and forth for a while and then I saw Kageyama and Hinata preparing their signature move. It was executed perfectly, and I took a picture, just as Tsuki blocked it! Wow.
   Daichi: "That's game!"
   Tsuki looked super cool! I look at the picture. I've got to show him!
   Y/n: "Tsuki! Tsuki!"

[Tsukishima's point of view]

   L/n: "Tsuki! Tsuki!" I turn to see L/n running toward me.
   Tsukishima: "Y-yes?"
   L/n: "You looked so cool out there, Tsuki!"
   I feel heat rushing to my cheeks. She thought I looked cool?
   L/n: "I got a great picture of your winning block! Look!" It is a good picture. "I'll print you guys some of these pictures if you want. Do you think everyone would like that?"
   Tsukishima: "Mmhmm."
   L/n: "Great! I can give them to you guys when I've printed them all out. I'll go tell the captain. Nice job out there today! You were amazing!" She went off to tell our captain.

[Yamaguchi's point of view]

   I watch L/n walk away as Kei cracks a smile.
   Yamaguchi: "You like her, don't you?"
   Kei: "Wha-, N-no."
   Yamaguchi: "Come on. You can tell me. I'm your best friend!"
   Kei: "Well, maybe a little." he mumbles.
   I chuckle.
   Yamaguchi: "Don't worry. I won't tell anyone."
   Kei: "Thanks, Yamaguchi."
