Aven's POV

My heart leaps and my hands begin to shiver on hearing his voice. It wasn't like this at first. His voice used to bring a smile on my face but now...it brings fear and sadness.

I always ask myself what I did wrong. Did I not love him enough?? Wasn't I enough?? How did our fairytale story turn into this??  It's turned into something I'm scared of.

"Hey", I flinch in response to his touch. His touch which used to warm me now stings.

I gulp and turn around to face him.

"Le...o"  "How was your day??", his broad smile creeps me out. My eyelids begin to flutter as I gaze into his dark brown eyes which has been destroyed by its puffiness and redness. He looks pale and reeks of alcohol. "You look tired", he cups my face. "Leo...", I gently take his hands off my face. "What are you doing here?", I ask.

My question brings confusion to his face. "What do mean by what am I doing here??", he frowns. "I'm here to welcome you back home", his frown instantly changes into a smile. "My baby girl is..."

"Leo stop this", I cut him short. "Stop what??", he looks at me with a confused look.

"Stop doing this to yourself. You're better than this. And...I'm not your baby girl. We're over. Just accept it".

I gather up courage to bring out these words. His eyes are filled with anger and pain.

"Leave my house...and don't come back...ever"

I walk out of the kitchen fighting back tears as I head to my room. My chest burns. It hurts. But this is what's best for me...and him.
