Aven's POV
"I'm not going to your school, mum".
We got here yesternight and an argument is the perfect start to my beautiful morning and a new life in this new city.
She never misses a chance to start an argument with me.
"Aven...it's just a school" she takes a sip of her coffee.
"It's your school. I don't want people giving me fake smiles and special attention. No, I don't".
She sighs and looks at me.
"You're attending Trixin High if you like it or not. My decision is final".
"C'mon mum. I don't want to go there". I cross my arms and roll my eyes.
She gets to her feet and heads to the kitchen. "Besides, no one knows you're my daughter so what's your problem".
My problem is, I don't want my mum keeping an eye on me twenty four seven.
Now I have to wait for dad to take me to school.
Dad taking me to school is way better than my principal dropping me off at school and having curious eyes staring at me.
The only problem here is that his early morning jogs will make me some minutes late for school.
I can't believe this.
I sigh.
Mum walks out of the kitchen. "Go dress up. Your uniform is in your closet".
My all perfect and principled mother. Always ahead of everybody.
I literally drag my feet to my room, accepting my fate. Nothing can save me now. Nothing I do will help me escape going to school today, her school. Absolutely nothing. Even feigning sickness at this point won't help.
She's soo principled that she want me to go to school on the first day. I just got here, after a long, exhausting journey. Can't she allow me rest just for today? No, not my mum. She wants me to be the perfect and disciplined daughter I'm never gonna be.
No matter how hard she tries, I'm never gonna be like her.I take a quick shower and put on the neatly ironed uniform hanging in my closet. When did she do all this? From admission to school ID to uniform. I'm certain she has already bought all the books I need. Such an organized, well prepared mother.
The uniform doesn't look bad on me though. It's perfect. The grey skirt falls perfectly on my knees and the crimson red blazer is not too tight. The long sleeved cream shirt is quite comfy.
I tie my hair into a ponytail and pick up my backpack.First day of school. I wonder how it'll go.
Half an hour later, I'm standing in the car park of a huge, magnificent building. My eyes hasn't left the school's well structured building since I got out of the car.
Wow! How come I never knew mum owns this beautiful school?
"Princess" My dad's voice draws me out of my hypnotized state.
"This is my last stop".
"But you promised to show me around".
"Something just popped up" his eyes are glued to his phone.
"Sorry" he finally looks at me.
"Got to run" dad places a kiss on my forehead, gets into his car and drives away.
He'll always choose his work over me.
I scan around, wondering where to go.
My eyes find a group of students walking towards the school and I quickly follow them.
