I wear my work attire a week later as I sing a few songs. I plan on going on a job afterwards with just Gray, and early tomorrow morning, I'll be leaving to look for the Dark Wings guild.

I say into the winged microphone, "Thank you, everyone! That's all for now until I come back from my info gathering job. I do hope I come back sooner than last time, though."

Everyone cheers in agreement. I put the mic away and go look at the job request board.

I find a job request about bandits robbing travellers by a town near Magnolia.

I pick it off the board and go over to Gray. I show it to him as I ask, "Do you want to do this job?"

He takes and reads it before nodding. "Sure. Sounds good."

I say as I take it back, "Great." I go and show the job to Mira, who's working behind the counter. "Gray and I are taking this job, Mira."

She smiles as she agrees, "Okay. Good luck."

Gray and I leave the guild to go to our destination.

"The bandits usually attack travellers around this area, during noon," I murmur as we reach our spot.

Gray murmurs as he looks around, "I don't see any of them."

I say, "I have an idea."

I hum to myself as I walk leisurely along the forest path, gazing around at the tall trees.

Laughter reaches my ears and I stop in surprise as a group of men wielding weapons appear out of the bushes.

"Lookie what we have here! A beauty," Says a dark haired man in the front, giving me a creepy grin. I hood my eyes in response. "What are you doing all the way out here?"

I reply calmly, "Just travelling."

"By yourself?" Asks another, chuckling as he takes his eyes up and down my body. I suppress a shudder. "That's too bad for you. If you don't have valuables, we'll just have fun with you instead!"

The men laugh. For some reason, I could picture the ice wizard clenching the tree trunk so hard the bark breaks. I shove the thought out of my mind for now.

"Unfortunately, I don't have any money on me," I tell them with a shrug.

The leader laughs as he grabs my arm and says, "Then you'll do just fi—"

Before he could do anything to me, I bring up my leg in his sensitive lower region, my face impassive. Everyone, maybe Gray, too, flinches at the strong impact.

The man drops like a stone as I put my foot down. I turn my stare to the others who were stunned.

"Get her!" The second man yells once he'd finally overcome his initial shock. The rest of the bandits charge at me, weapons raised.
