Percy's POV
The car slowed to a stop, the snow crushing underneath the sheer weight. I could feel my fingers go numb, my breath turning into white clouds in front of me.
"Thanks Steve!" I muttered, sliding my fingers under the door handle. Before I could leave the doors locked, a lasting silence enveloping the car.
"You don't think I'm leaving you here alone, do you?" Steve questioned, turning to face me.
"That is what I was hoping!" I answered, I could feel Thalia tensing beside me.
I glanced over at Annabeth, the blonde shooting me an alarmed look. I shrugged, a frown tugging at my lips.
"Look, Annabeth's Dad is going to pick us up. We're just going to a ball, staying at Annabeth's place for the weekend and going back to our respective houses." Thalia explained, her hands reaching for her shield and spear so that she could most-likely pummel the guy that was endangering Grover every minute he kept us waiting.
Annabeth placed a hand on the Thalia's arm, subtly shaking her head. Her blue eyes glowed, annoyance clear as day on her face.
Steve looked at the angry daughter of Zeus, then over at the monotone blonde, Annabeth stared right back at him. He sighed. "Just make sure you call Natasha by nine. She'll kill me if you disappear under my watch. And I mean actually, not figuratively."
I grinned, rubbing my hands together. The doors unlocked, I jumped out towards the freedom of the woods. My blue duffle bag was slung in front of me, packed with any necessities we could possibly need.
"Let's get this over with." I looked up at the looming castle before us. Westover hall looked like an evil villains lair. It was made of all black, with towers, slit windows and a big set of wooden double doors. It stood on a snowy cliff, overlooking a frosted forest on one side, and the churning ocean on the other.
Thalia walked besides me, her cheeks red, a ripped up army jacket hanging off her shoulders. Her overnight bag was electric blue, it looked nearly empty. She caught my stare, her intense blue eyes glaring into mine. I quickly turned away, stuffing my hands into my puffy blue jacket.
I felt ready standing next to Thalia and Annabeth, both of them with serious expressions on their faces, ready to kill whatever monsters we would have to. Then we stepped in front of the giant wooden doors. Thalia shivered, her mask wavering for a moment, revealing the fear striking her.
Annabeth trudged on, "We'd better get inside. Grover needs us."
Her reminder caused the wave of fear to get pushed away, the idea of what we might have to face not as important as helping Grover. In the back of my mind I wondered what could have been so awful to make Grover call the distress call. Most likely not something good.
The oak doors groaned open, the three of us stepping into the entry hall. The hall was lined with axes, and littered with other weapons all over the walls.
"Woah," I was speechless.
I knew that Westover hall was a military school and all but this felt like overkill. I could already sense something wrong with this place. Thalia was rubbing her silver bracelet, I knew we were thinking the same thing: a fight was coming.
The doors slammed besides us. Thalia started walking, leading the way. We stashed our overnight bags behind a pillar, and started down the hall. We had barely made it anywhere when we heard the hushed voices of a man and woman. They walked out of the shadows, stopping us in our steps.
The male teacher glared at us, his short gray hair seemingly glowing in the dim light. He was clean-shaven, and stood stiffly like a stick. They were both wearing military-style uniforms with red trim.
