Naya

OK with it - Lyn Lapid

I sipped some coffee as the sun rose up. Sitting in my room, I wondered whether I'd go downstairs for breakfast. I really don't want to see my team. Whether I like it or not, I'd have to go downstairs. “Good morning Naya” says Stella. “If it were a good morning, I wouldn't be hearing your voice Stella.” I answer sarcastically as I finish drinking my coffee. “Are you being serious or sarcastic, I can't tell by the tone of your voice” she asks. I roll my eyes. “Sarcastic. Is everyone else awake?” I ask. “Yes.” she answers. I roll my eyes. Great, I go downstairs to wash my cup. I'm not going to avoid them forever. “Morning Naya.” Cassandra said energetically. I give  her a faint smile as my response. Tristan and Anthony wave at me. I wave back washing my cup. I scan the room for Nikhil but he's nowhere to be found. “Have you been ignoring us Naya?” Tristan asked finally breaking the awkward silence. I don't answer his question, instead I dry my hands. “Of course. I'm ignoring you guys. What you did yesterday was wrong.”I finally answer. Anthony sighs. “I decided I didn't need you on the mission. Not after your outburst. I make the decisions on this team.” he ranted. I roll my eyes clearly annoyed, I'm not hiding it. “And do mom and dad know about this?” I ask. He nodded. “Is this all because I couldn't control my powers? I wasn't going to hurt anyone in the training room.” I explained. “But you could have and if you can't control them in the training room then how will you control them whilst saving the city?” he asked. I didn't have answer. “You'll sit out quite a few missions and Nikhil will take your place.” he said coldly. I nodded but I was angry. Anyone in my shoes would be. I went upstairs to my room and decided to take a shower. Once I finished cleaning up my room and showering. I changed into jeans and a sweater with boots. This whole situation ruined my mood and morning. What am I going to do for the next days? Sit around and do nothing? I used to hardly ever get free time, now that I have it what do I do with it? There was a knock at my door. “Don't come in.” I answer to it. The person came in anyway. I look up to see who it is, It's Nikhil. He had a mischievous smile on his face. “What, came to gloat about taking my place in the team?” I ask as I get up from my bed. He leans against my doorframe folding his arms. His dark brown eyes flickered with mischief. His brown hair curled up though it looked fluffy. “Obviously Naya, it just proves I'm better than you.” he smirked. “You're a replacement.” I say in my defense. “A replacement that's better than the original.” he boasted. I'm not continuing this conversation with him.
It's not going to lead to anywhere but an argument and insults. It's stupid to fight with Nikhil.
