Part2

The night of the confession

Since that night , Jake hadn't talked so much with his mentor, he knew that what had been said that night should not have any repercussions on their relationship but he could not help thinking about what Heeseung had said.

It happened more and more often, without really realizing it, to get lost in his thoughts and reflections for long hours.

But, if he didn't notice that Heeseung saw that there was something going on in his head, the other however didn't let anything seem and didn't say a word on the subject.

It was one of the rear times Jake found himself in the library at their house.

He did not read, still not really attracted by the books. He was just circulating among all these collections, sometimes opening them here and there without really being interested in them.

- Looking for something to read?

Jake jump around finding himself facing the owner of that voice.
Heeseung was staring at him with his big yellow eyes that seemed to perpetually read him.
He was waiting for his answer even though he probably already knew it but Jake took a moment to observe him a little more.
He hadn't even, felt or heard him approaching.
Despite all these confessions, he still held some mystery.

His light white flannel shirt gave the impression that it was floating on him without really touching his body, and his hair was arranged as usual, his earring caressed the skin of his neck which was as bright white like it was dead.
He didn't move, noticing that Jake wasn't going to answer his question right away, he just waited patiently as motionless as a statue.
He was still staring at him straight in the eye, a small but visible if you paid attention- smile on the corners of his lips.

- I... What a surprise to see you here. Actually no! If there is a place where you can be it is here? I mean... No I'm not looking for anything, thank you.

Heeseung still hadn't moved except for his lips which widened into a bigger smile, baring his two fangs.

- I see, i thought that you had become mute by I don't know what manners, what miracle.

He pronounced his last words in a tone between mocking and sarcastic, Jake might have been used to these teasing but it always annoy him every time.
If Heeseung was posed calm and rather thoughtful, when he was not pushed at his limits, Jake was generally the complete opposite to him, and that amused the older.

Even with such a difference of character, they had managed to live for several years this way.
Seeing that Jake wasn't planning on answering, Heeseung made no further remarks.
He grabbed a book from one of the shelves around them and opened it to read a few pages.

-You should take this one.

He handed the object to Jake without giving him another look while getting ready to leave the place.
Jake still took the time to keep the book that Heeseung had offered him with some apprehension.
For some reason.

- Heeseung!

If he had to be honest with himself, he knew why he had called him, but he preferred to say that his mentor's name had come out of his mouth by accident.
Maybe, just maybe, that despite his frustration following the events of that night which had turned things upside down, deep down inside him, he still wanted to find some form of rapprochement with his elder.

Even if it means having to keep face and silence his thoughts at all costs in the hope that Heeseung doesn't enter his mind, not even out of simple curiosity.

He noticed how the latter was still staring at him patiently as his sentence had been suspended for a while already.
He often wondered if the fact that Heeseung never pressed him to finish his sentences or that he never insisted on knowing anything was because he read his mind and therefore had his answers or if it's because he had a minimum of respect for his person and his privacy.

Or maybe it was just the cause of a form of careless ?

This thought in particular disturbs him a little, it was not like Heeseung, he had always taken care of them two, in his own way.
Jake looked up to meet Heeseung's twins suns of eyes. Although he had the impression that he was always exposed in front of them, looking perpetually curious and kind, he couldn't resist the urge to drown in his gaze.

- You... What were you going to do?

He took a moment for he didn't know what, before answering, giving him a smile that was almost immediately eclipsed by a look that Jake assumed was confusion.

- For what? Didn't you was about to read?

He pointed to the book he was holding in his hands.

- I never said that.

- You didn't actually say it.

- Heeseung...

-I beg your pardon.

He smiled at him again, remaining the semblance in full reflection.

- I was about to go practice swordsmanship, would you like to join me?

- Can we really talk about training when you're are the one concerned?

- We never finished learning Jake.

On this last sentence Jake added nothing, never know what to do in these moments of existential questions that Heeseung pronounced, however without ever developing his whole thoughts.

- And so ? Would you like to join me?

- Ah, yes, let's go.

Heeseung gave him a last smile and Jake took the time to put his thoughts in order and joined him.
