To say that this doctor’s office is worrying would be an understatement. The entrance to the building it is in is located in a secluded area and the hallways that lead to the office are so narrow that only one person (or one person with a child attached to their hips) can pass them at a time. This place is that type of suspicious where you end up loosing both of your kidneys. Luckily that is, most likely, not going to happen to you.

The whole check-up took around half an hour. Aside from the obvious wounds on your wrists, he also examined you for other symptoms like fever, something he personally insisted on despite your reassurance that you feel perfectly fine. In your eyes, Mori still has that uncanny aura around him, but after the check-up he seems a bit less intimidating. He is a good doctor, that’s for sure. Not once did you feel pain worth mentioning or uncomfortable.

Now, back to the present. You are sitting in some random chair, alone, and without any plan on what to do next. Your treatment is finished, but no one told you to go nor to stay. I mean, the chair is a comfortable one and there allot of medical flasks and bottles to look at, yet the feeling of not belonging here weights heavily on your chest. ”Maybe if I quietly sit here long enough, everyone will forget me and I can become one with the chair…”

“(Y/N)~ look at my drawing!” Oh right, Elise was there the whole time as well. When you three entered this room, Mori gave her a box of crayons so that he can properly focus on you. Proudly, she shows you the picture she drew: Three figures are standing in the middle of a flower field. Or is it raining flowers? Since Elise draws adequate to her age it is rather hard to tell. And the three people must be Elise herself, Mori and…

“…Do I really look that horrible…?” It clearly resembles you, but you look kinda beaten and dirty.

Mori walks over to you and looks at the drawing too. His only response is a chuckle as he goes back to his pile of documents.

”So he agrees with her…” Sighing, you pat the blonde girl’s head. “For your age you are drawing really well. Keep up the good work!”

Pleased with your answer, Elise sits down on the floor next to you and continues to draw on the back of the paper.

“Tell me (Y/N), what are you planning to do next?”, asks Mori all of the sudden.

“Hm? Oh, eh… Honestly, I don’t know… I have nowhere to go to anymore...” You know where this conversation is going and it is the main reason why you agreed to go with them, but now that you think about it – what kind of value could someone like you have? You have no special ability or other skills that make you stand out. And you don’t want to have blood on your hands either.

“Sometimes fate plays cruel jokes on us, hm?”

“Yes...” Confusing and strange would a better description to you, though it doesn’t matter right now.
