Ch:8 Clue or Not?

(Olivia's POV)

The boys were taking too long. So, Em and I decided to get the food ourselves. On the way, I bumped onto a worker.

Worker- Hey, look where ur going!!!😠

Olivia- It was as much as my fault as yours. I'm sry.

Worker- U should be. What r u teenagers even doing in this place? Never knew what this place could interest u.

Emma- We came on a trip to visit New Jersey. Heard this park was famous and we wanted to check out this lab bcs my friend over here is a mad fan of Thomas Edison.

Olivia (Thinking)- Trust her to make up stories. She didn't even give away a hint that two boys were along with us. Certainly, this worker means bad business.

Worker- Hm... If u must know Thomas Edison was a distant relative of me. His fortune ofc is not with me but I've gained some amount from it. I work here to honour his memory. He would be pleased if he was alive nw.

Olivia (Thinking)- If I'll even believe that😏.

Emma- Oh! Then u must know abt the piece missing from one of his inventions. We searched a lot abt him and came across this info.

Worker- Yes, the piece was of his inventions to make electricity without wires. He and Tesla were in competition. Personally, I believe Tesla did steal it but as he got bankrupt, I don't think like that now.

Olivia- That's interesting.

Worker- I'll tell u girls a secret. Thomas had a secret workplace of his own. Not the one there is now but another just below his house. His relatives hv tried searching for it but to no avail. Even me! I doubt if anybody will even search on that.

(After the worker left)

Emma- Well, what do u think abt that?

Olivia- It's just some piece of random shit he wanted to say.

Emma- But Olive, we're on an investigation. Think how much of a big clue he gave!

Olivia- It could be but I still don't believe it to my heart

Emma- Then don't! But we could go to his house with permission and check it.

Olivia- Sure, Ig.

Emma- Now-let's search to irresponsible boys.

Olivia- That I'll agree with u.
