Chapter 14: Old Friends, New Enemies

"Adrian... I had a feeling you would return eventually. How's life treated you?" Vicky asked.

"Oh, it's been grand. Just grand... once I destroy your existence, it'll be even better," Adrian said. Abby gets angry and a Kyo Blast forms in her hand.

"Abby... don't. It's fine," Vicky said.

"Ooh... I'm guessing this little girl is your daughter eh? How interesting."

"Excuse me? I'm no little girl, oldie! Why don't you crawl back from the pit you came from!" Abby exclaimed, angrily.

"She has a mouth on her like you always did. She probably isn't much though, heh," Adrian chuckled.

Vicky peers over at Nathan who has his arms crossed with an annoyed look on his face.

"Guessing that's your son? He's more powerful than you were at that age, I'll grant him that. Too bad he's with you... he would make an amazing warrior if he was with us."

"Heh... she has one thing right, Father. I am definitely stronger than you were at my age. You sure she isn't a smart Master after all?" Nathan mocked. Adrian nudges and glares at him. He puts his attention back on Vicky and smirks.

"Maybe our kids should have a playdate! I could guarantee you that your daughter wouldn't make it back alive from it." Abby grits her teeth in anger as she stares down Adrian.

"What do you want, Adrian? I know you didn't just come to chat so just spill it already," Vicky demanded.

Adrian holds out his hand and a Kyo Blast immediately forms in his hand! He aims it at Vicky and shoots it at her! She dodges and the Kyo Blast explodes on contact with the tree, causing it to fall along with some others caught in the explosion!

"I wanna tear you apart just like that tree! I wanna make you suffer for what you did to me all those years ago!" Adrian exclaimed.

"Oh Adrian, get over it! I beat you fair and square and Master Zeke said so. I had to break away from you because you were actually trying to hurt me and the other students to try and prove that you could defeat us. You did it to yourself," Vicky explained.

"You promised that we would always be teammates... that you wouldn't betray me! Instead... YOU HUMILIATED ME! I'll return the favor by having you beg for your life at my feet!" Adrian yelled.

"Don't you realize how much it hurt me to have to let my teammate go? I hoped every day that maybe we could go back to normal and be friends but you ruined it! You tried to hurt me... all because I beat you in a fight. You told me not to hold back and I didn't. I won't feel guilty for anything..."

"Yeah, you're right... but instead, you won't be feeling anything in just a few minutes. I can promise you that," Adrian said.

From behind a nearby tree... Michael, Will, and Julie hide while listening to Vicky and Adrian's argument. A fearful look spreads across Julie's face.

"This is starting to freak me out! That Adrian dude is really trying to kill Master Vicky. What are we going to do... guys?"

"Julie! That guy behind Adrian is someone we met before! He saved us from the River Oak Bandits. His name is Nathan," Michael explained.

"Wait, so you know these people?!" Julie exclaimed.

"Not exactly. We're only just now seeing Adrian. We also never saw Nathan before yesterday when he saved us. From what we know, he isn't really friendly either," Will explained.

Nathan overhears the others speak as Adrian and Vicky continue arguing.

"Father... we have some unexpected guests. They seem to be hiding over there!" Adrian chuckles and nods at Nathan.
