note : a cute story for chris his birthday <3 i started writing this a year ago when it was his 26th birthday, but i never finished it. so this time i decided to finally finish this so i could upload it for his birthday! i hope you guys like it and that there aren't many mistakes because i honestly didn't check it, so it's a pretty rough draft. anyway, just enjoy this one shot for chan's birthday! i love him so much, i hope he knows that he's loved and that he deserves the best day. chris is one of the kindest people that are around and he should know. and to bang chan, my bae, i wish you the happiest birthday🫶 please enjoy your day to the fullest.

"I'm so glad you're back!" you yell once you run towards your boyfriend who just got out of the black car in front of the building of the company he works for. He looks up as he hears your voice, his arms wide open. Once the staff has noticed it's you, they step away and let you wrap your arms around Chris.
"Hi Rye," Chan mumbles, his cheek pressed against the side of your head. He sighs and inhales the scent of your freshly washed hair, the smell putting a smile around his lips. He's missed everything that had to do with you. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," you sigh, pulling away and looking up to him. Your eyes meet, and a grin appears on both your faces. Chris bends down and presses his lips on yours for a soft and loving kiss.
You kiss him back, wrapping your arms around his neck to pull him closer and to savor the kiss. You haven't seen him for over two weeks, so it's nice to have him by your side again. Especially because it was his birthday yesterday and you didn't get to spend time with him.
You went to The Netherlands for a work trip. You're partly Dutch, so spending some time in the country your mother grew up in was fun. You got to see some family, meet some old friends, and see 5 Seconds of Summer in Amsterdam since they were performing there on Sunday. You couldn't let that opportunity slide while you were there for work anyway, so you bought tickets and went with one of your friends.
But because of your work trip, you wouldn't be home for Chuseok. Chris decided that he wanted to spend his free time somewhere, so he went to Osaka with some friends of his. Unfortunately, the trip was until the fourth of October. You came home on the third, on his birthday.
Meaning you didn't see him when he turned twenty-seven.
Chris didn't really care that much, he doesn't like celebrating his birthday anyway. But he knows that you care about birthdays, and also about his, so he promised to spend a few hours with you where you could give him your gifts and make him feel special.
But that wasn't going to be today.
"I'm excited for you to get your gifts!" you say, leaning away and jumping up and down to stay warm. You're only wearing a hoodie, and it's pretty cold outside.
