|Chresanto|

It's been a week since Chrystal came home.

Seeing Jasmine in mommy mode made me feel a way that I couldn't really describe. Never would I have thought that a woman like her would be the mother of my baby girl.

She's intelligent. She's caring. She's a good listener. And I'm just like damn, how did I get so blessed with a wonderful woman like her?

"Chresanto?"

"Wassup?"

"I love you." She looked down, while feeding Chrystal. "And I can't come-

My phone rung, interrupting jasmine. "Hold up for a minute."

"Hello?"

"Chresanto, you need to get down here to the hospital, Mom is sick." My sister said.

"What's going on?"

"Just hurry up and get here please." She sounded like she was crying.

"I'm on my way."

I hung up and ran to the closet. I slipped some shoes on and grabbed my keys off the dresser.

"Jasmine, Mom's at the hospital, I'll be back." I said running out the door.

I hopped in my Mercedes, and drove off.

So many thoughts were running through my head.

I can't lose my motha. I don't know how I could even possibly deal with losin' my motha. She my backbone. When me and my sista lost our fatha, she tried and did her best to fill his place.

After all the damn thinkin' I was doing, I didn't even realize I had made it to the hospital.

I got out, and walked in. Christi met me in the waiting room.

"What's goin' on sis?" I asked.

She just looked down and pulled my hand, leading me to Mom's room.

I walked in to see her sleeping.

I sat in the chair next to her bed and gently grabbed her hand.

She woke up and looked over at me.

"Aye mama." I slightly smiled.

"Hi baby." She said, her voice weak and raspy.

"What's goin' on withchu ma?"

She sighed and looked out the window.

"Chresanto, I'm sick. I've been sick for a long time."

"What do you mean ma? What's going on?"

"Baby, I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer."

"What? What do you mean?" I asked, tears threatening to fall from my eyes. "Ca- can't you do chemotherapy or somethin'? They have to help somehow."

"Baby, there's nothing else they can do. Their giving me only a few months to live. I'm sick and I aint getting no better. I'm on my way out of this world Chresanto."

"Ma, don't talk like that."

"It's the truth honey." She replied

"Mama, I can't lose you." I said, tears rolling down my face. "Why didn't you tell me? What am I supposed to do now?"

"Stop that crying. The reason that I didn't tell you is because I knew this is how you would react, so Christi knew....Baby you gone be alright. You have two beautiful children to take care of. They need you." She said. She soon drifted off to sleep. I kissed her forehead and walked out. Christina seen me walking out.
