Several months later & much more familiar with the TG3.....

There was a new show dominating the West End theater district, really the talk of the town. Everyone was clamoring to get tickets. I stood at Meg's desk in the BBC offices chatting idly with her about it. I had tried to get tickets but, they were sold out. Absolutely nothing available for months! I was so disappointed. James and Richard joined in the discussion of the theater and the arts in London. I didn't really think much about it at the time, just fun light conversation. Even Jeremy was up for a good show now and then....who knew he was cultured?

Several days later I swung by to see Meg after work, we were going to go shopping and have dinner with friends. It was the end of the day and she was slowly shutting things down for the night when Hammond beckoned that he needed her help real quick. "Computer issues" she said rolling her eyes and giggling as she trotted over to his desk. I watched May stand up and throw his jacket on to leave. I admit I just enjoy watching him from a distance, especially as he runs his fingers through that perfectly unruly hair. "I wonder what that would feel like?" I thought to myself...immediately my cheeks flushed and I had to look away, praying no one would notice. As May walked by to leave, I just expected his usual soft "good evening", but tonight he stopped to talk.

"I'm glad you stopped today, I have something to show you" he said as he dug in the interior pocket of his jacket. I was desperately trying not to blush again, hoping he wouldn't notice. Out of the pocket he produced a single white ticket. "My god you managed to get a ticket to the show I've been dying to see! Oh you are so lucky! Now you're going to have to tell me everything!" I said with delight. "I want to know all about it!' He slid his fingers apart, showing me one ticket was actually two. Stunned I looked up at his slate blue eyes. "Would you care to join me? I know it's short notice...the show is tomorrow night....but I just managed to get them today..." He stammered on a bit, but I stopped him. "I'd love to go, tomorrow is fine. Thank you, it's a very generous offer..." I blushed hotly and didn't know what else to say....

Just then, Meg popped back in and readied herself to leave. Hammond came back with more questions for May. Hurriedly, I scrawled my cell phone number on a piece of paper and handed it to James....he smiled that soft shy way he does and promised to be in touch.

"What was THAT all about?!" Meg prodded as soon as the elevator doors shut. As I told her what went on, I found myself repeatedly saying "It's NOT a date! He was just being nice!" but I was left thinking...was it...surely not....but? All I knew is tonight's shopping trip was going to be about finding the perfect dress. I anxiously waited for my cell phone to ping with a message from James to work out the details of tomorrow evening......
