Us Again(Sequel to SasuSaku High School)

Chapter 1: Back Again

Being back at Konoha after such a long time was somewhat refreshing for Sakura. She never expected her city to change so much, yet remain the same. Nonetheless, Sakura was grateful she decided to come back home. A long time has passed since she last visited and truth be told, it was good to be back to her family.

However, it was a bit lonely because most of her friends were not here. And the ones that were here were usually too busy. So, Sakura stayed at home and focused on the sole thing that brought her back to her hometown.

Music.

She has become the worldwide known pop-star over this few years and her music has been what got her thought the tough times. Including her break-up. After selling out her hit albums, Sakura deiced to go back home in an attempt to find inspiration and write a new album. However, only thing she got was a few dwindled up songs.

And here she thought music would be easier than medicine.

She sometime forgets she has two careers. She's a doctor too, after all. She transferred in Konoha hospital to work after leaving New York. Truth be told, Sakura preferred working at the hospital, rather than coming at home and staring at the blank pages. Besides, her family wasn't home till the evening. Her parents were working and her brother was at school.

Just six years ago it was Sakura in high school, having the time of her life with her friends and boyfriend, now it was her brother living the life of a teenager.

She felt like she was becoming a boring citizen. It's only been a month since her arrival in Konoha and only thing she did was to write a few songs that probably won't make it in the album and work at the hospital with her old principal Tsunade Senju.

It's been a long since she had a real fun and even if she wouldn't admit it, Sakura missed her best friend Ino. She was travelling around the world with her boyfriend, modelling for famous companies and going on as many runway shows as possible. Sakura wished she was touring too but she finished her international tour months ago. Now only thing left for her was to write a new album and work.

"Sakura, your shift is over. You know you can leave the hospital, right?" Shizune, a good friend and also a doctor here, told her while giving her a playful smile.

"I know," Sakura offered a small smile. "But there's still so much paperwork I have to finish."

"You can do them at home too, with warm coffee and comfortable bed. You don't have to stay here." Shizune countered.

The pinkette sighed. "Now that you say it, going home sound better." Shizune smiled in victory and wished her goodnight. Sakura did so too, gathered her things and made her way towards her car where the driver and the bodyguard waited. Sakura hated that she wasn't allowed to go alone anywhere but her father insisted it was better like this. Being a daughter of famous people plus being a well-known pop-star meant having bodyguards everytime.

"To the Haruno mansion, right ma'am?" The driver asked. Sakura only nodded in answer and got in the car.

When she finally got home, she took shower, made coffee and settled comfortably in bed to do her paperwork while waiting for dinner. Family meals were almost only time where she and her family talked calmly and enjoyed each other's company.

Sakura finally finished her paperwork and grabbed her phone to scroll through social media, meanwhile her cat Yue snuggled comfortably on her lap. She smiled at the photos of Ino and Sai from a party, Naruto's and Hinata's one year anniversary and so on. They all seemed so happy. Sakura couldn't help tears roll on her cheeks. She missed the old times so much. It's been a long since Konoha 12 got together. But it would never be the same after her and certain dark haired boy's break-up.

And maybe on que, Ino started videochatting her. Sakura answered with the biggest smile on her face. That blonde always managed to bring smile on her face.

"Forehead, I have the best news!" Ino exclaimed. She had a big grin on her face and it seemed like she was crying from happiness.

"Ino-pig! What's going on?" Sakura asked in curiosity. She wondered what got her best friend so happy.

Ino raised her hand and brought it closer to the camera. There was a diamond ring crowned on her finger. Sakura squealed so loudly her cat jumped out of her lap. "Oh my god, oh my god! Ino you're engaged!"

"I'm engaged!" The blonde squealed back. "Sai proposed ten minutes ago, you're the first to know, forehead!"

"I can't believe it!" Sakura felt fresh tears again, from happiness. "Congratulations, you two! I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks Ugly," Sai called over and Ino turned her camera to show her fiance. It was one of the few times when Sakura saw Sai's genuine, happy smile. Sakura couldn't stop smiling like them. Truly, she was so happy for them.

"Guess what again, forehead?" Ino said as she turned the camera back to herself. "We'll see you soon!"

"Wait, you coming back in Konoha?" The pinkette questioned in surprise.

"Well, where else would we get married? I need to plan the wedding!" Ino grinned.

Sakura grinned back. "Aww pig! I can't believe it! It will be a wedding of century!"

"It will be, especially when the famous pop-star named forehead will be my maid of honor!"

Sakura couldn't help the tears from rolling on her cheeks. "I would truly be honored, pig!"

Ino smiled brightly again, her eyes sparkling from excitement. "I will be with you soon, Sakura. And you better write a song, because you won't get away from performing at my wedding."

"I'll have one before the wedding." Sakura chuckled. "And when will you be coming?"

"Next week." The Yamanaka girl winked. "I need to go know, see you soon, forehead!"

Sakura waved her hand and watched as Ino hung up. She cried a bit more from happiness, then left her room with Yue in her hands to find her mom. She found her in the kitchen.

"Mom, Ino's getting married!" She exclaimed.

"Oh, it's wonderful!" Mebuki Haruno cheered. "I'm so happy for her and Sai!"

"Yeah, they'll be arriving here next week." Sakura grinned. "I really can't believe it, Ino-pig's engaged!"

Mebuki smiled at her daughter as Sakura wondered back in her memories, remembering every time Ino talked about her dream wedding. It would truly be an event of the century.

An hour later Konoha girls were discussing Ino's engagement in their groupchat. Sakura was so happy to hear that her friends would be back for Ino's wedding. Everyone was coming back home.

Then it hit her, everyone.

Before her mind could create a hurricane of anxiousness, Sakura dropped the subject and went back to thinking about her music. She had to write a song for Ino's wedding. Yet, she couldn't write a single rhythm. What was she going to do?

Maybe visiting old places would bring some melody to her. Sakura decided she would visit old, memorable places. All, happiest and saddest places. She needed to make herself feel to write more. She could take a little heartbreak if it meant returning to music again.

Sakura snuggled on her bed with Yue sleeping soundly next to her and let the sleep take her to the dreamland.
