The Return of Oliver and Mailee Queen
<---------->

Following her brother through the sharp and steep forest floors, Mailee's bare feet swung through the air as she jumped up and grabbed onto a thick tree branch, swinging onto a jagged mountainside that her brother ran up. Following her brother the two jumped further down the mountain where their bows lay.

Grabbing her bow, Mailee watched her brother lodge his knife between two rocks before he grabbed an arrow and quickly sliced it against the knife, successfully lighting the arrow on fire before firing it at the large campfire.

Watching flames engulf the large wood pile as an explosion erupted, Mailee could feel a sense of relief fill her body.

Maybe they'd finally make it off the island.

Watching as the boat turned toward the island, Mailee let out the breath she'd unknowingly been holding.

"Come on," Oliver said, quickly running down the mountain with Mailee following.

At some point Mailee had lost hope that she and her brother would ever make it off the island, she thought maybe she'd die here and Oliver would have to bury her beside their father. But when she watched that boat turn course toward the island she couldn't help but feel relief.

She was going home.

Making it to the burning pile of wood, Oliver dropped to his knees while Mailee lowered her bow onto the ground, the two siblings removing their hoods, revealing her brother to have a long beard and mustache with long dirty blond hair to match. Mailee on the other hand had long black hair that landed just above her waist.

Both of their faces were dirty and their hair was tangled together.

But after getting the approval the two followed the men onto their boat. One man offered them blankets while the other drove the ship away from the island.

Smiling tightly at the man as he offered her and her brother a drink, Mailee sat beside her brother tensely with her bow laid beside her.

Mailee knew she was no longer the girl who partied every night and went home with a new guy regularly, instead, she was a woman. A woman who survived things nobody should have had to go through.

<-----Five Days Later----->

Unable to split the two Queen siblings up, the doctors were forced to put the two in the same hospital room.

Mailee's hair was now cut to the middle of her chest and her skin was clean. There were no longer patches of dirt on her face or any matted hair in sight.

She looked similar to how she did before the boat sank.

Aside from the scars littering her body, and the dark glimmer in her eye as she leaned on the wall and started out the window at Starling City.

Listening to the door open Mailee stood up straight, allowing her arms to drop down to her sides.

"Oliver? Mailee?" Moira Queen asked, stopping in front of the door and watching her two kids turn around to look at her.

Oliver had tears in his eyes but Mailee couldn't bring herself to allow the emotions she felt to show.

"Mom," Oliver said softly, the two Queen kids walking forward and stopping in front of their mother.

"My beautiful babies," Moira said hugging Oliver, and Mailee strictly believed she wouldn't have said that if she knew what they'd done.

Allowing her mother's arms to wrap around her after she'd hugged Oliver, Mailee closed her eyes, the familiar perfume her mom always used making the woman's body relax slightly.
