Their destination room was on the lowest floor. Angelina vaguely remembered that she had been on this floor before when Fonda had kidnapped her. Somehow, the crazy woman had managed to drag her to the room at the end of the left corridor.

"Doctor Erick, where are we going?" asked Angelina as she walked into the hallway opposite Doctor Reiner's office.

She looked down to examine the blood seeping onto her T-shirt, her nose scrunching from the rancid odor. "I should have changed my clothes first."

"Later," Doctor Erick replied with a dismissive snort. "I don't think anyone will care about your appearance."

Angelina pursed her lips. Their steps stopped at the end of the right hallway. Doctor Erick pressed his thumb on the switch until the artificial wall lifted.

The smell of formalin wafted from the 10 x 8 square meter room they entered. Angelina's eyes widened when she saw the scene that greeted her. Dozens of giant two-and-a-half-meter clear water tubes lined the left and right sides. Genetically modified human corpses and unique animals, whose bodies had been sewn back together with baseball stitches, occupied most of them.

At the center of the room were three metal beds with wheels and a table full of surgical equipment. On the other side of the wall was a large tub with a faucet, a place to bathe the corpses, and five giant refrigerators lined up next to it.

"Welcome to the Treasure Room!" exclaimed Doctor Erick. He puffed his chest out proudly. "This is where we keep the prize winnings from the battle."

Angelina walked in hesitantly. She could faintly smell the odor of blood in the room. However, her steps stopped at the big tube labeled Rokurokubi. The naked body of the Japanese woman was floating in formalin water with her eyes closed. There were Y-shaped stitch marks on the shoulder bone and under the chest.

"What a beautiful girl."

Doctor Erick stood next to Angelina. His praise made her reflexively shiver. Her eccentric coworker observed the contents of the tube with an adoring look.

"The cells in her body can create Kuyang," Doctor Erick said under his breath. "Amazing... What a girl."

"Kuyang?" Angelina was stunned when she heard about the mystical figure from Borneo. They said she could detach her head and fly over the roof tiles of houses to suck the blood of pregnant women or newborn babies.

"Palasik, if the Doctor is not familiar with the nickname Kuyang," explained Doctor Erick with sparkling eyes, "Doctor Galina and I are still trying to figure out how to make the head fly while carrying internal organs. It's very challenging."

Psychopaths!

"Doctor Erick, why did you invite me here?" Angelina tried to keep her distance from the psychopathic man who looked like he was about to rape the autopsied corpse in front of them. Angelina tried to keep her distance from the psychopathic man who looked like he was about to rape the autopsied corpse in front of them.

"Ah, sorry, I almost forgot," he turned around and walked to the center of the room while inviting his coworker. "Come, Doctor."

Angelina glanced for a moment at Rokurokubi with an uncomfortable feeling. The Japanese woman's long hair was no longer in a bun and floated freely in the water. Although she died a terrible death, her face now looked peaceful.

They should have cremated her body instead of displaying it like a decorative doll.

Angelina swallowed her saliva. She decided to follow the fat man. He wore surgical clothes while standing near a corpse on an iron table.

Angelina's breath caught. Her skin crawled when she observed the rows of uniquely numbered jars on the long table containing various preserved internal organs. She also stared in horror at the stiff body of a brown-skinned man lying on the autopsy table.

"W-who is he?" Angelina stammered. A gaping wound was visible on the left chest, where blood was still flowing and collected in a large bucket underneath.

"Hantu Raya. Inyiak managed to rip out his heart, amazing..."

Doctor Erick's praise made Angelina's face pale. She returned to observing the corpse, staring blankly at the ceiling. The young man seemed to be only twenty years old. He was just an ordinary man who died a horrible death.

Ramaik was killing humans again.

"I've done an external examination," said Doctor Erick with a cheerful smile. "I want to do you the honor of removing his ribs after I Y-split his body."

What?!

Angelina gaped as the crazy man enthusiastically began preparing the autopsy equipment. She also glared as her coworker tested the electric saw. He would use it to split the skull horizontally above the ears.

"Doctor Erick, I have to go back immediately. I haven't had time to check Ramaik's condition," Angelina walked hurriedly to the artificial wall that had been closed for a while.

"But, Doctor, don't you want to come examine this carcass with me?" asked Doctor Erick in a confused tone. "Or, are you only interested in performing an autopsy on Inyiak?"

Angelina's steps stopped right in front of the switch. She turned around and reflexively asked in a high tone. "What do you mean?!"

Doctor Erick was silent for a moment. He looked sympathetically at Angelina's reaction before answering, "There are only two freedoms the beast can have: become an experimental corpse elsewhere or inhabit one of the tubes here. If you love Inyiak so much, you must pray that he dies not from losing the fight but from the effects of the drugs he's been taking."

*****

It was almost three in the morning when Angelina lay exhausted on her bed. She watched the light outside the window in the dark.

The helicopter carrying the losing side had long since taken to the air, leaving the remains of Hantu Raya behind. Angelina's lips trembled as she recalled her last conversation with Erick.

"This is just my advice as a friend: find a way for Inyiak to die in this place. That way, you'll never lose him."

Madman.

Angelina curled up because she felt cold despite wearing the blanket. That madman was about to dissect Ramaik.

Angelina's heart was beating fast. She could still feel the warmth of her patient's skin during the examination.

"There are only two freedoms that beast can get: become an experimental corpse elsewhere or inhabit one of the tubes here..."

Sooner or later, Ramaik would die because of them.

An imaginary long, soft purr seemed to enter Angelina's hearing. The woman's face suddenly twisted in pain.

Ramaik.

A drop of tear rolled down from Angelina's eyes. Ramaik, I will free you, even if they kill me.
