Characters: Random rookie police, Tokei (Time), Kurei (Orange), Kakureta (Sabre)— — — — —
Sabre POV"We have you surrounded, surrender at once." I was cornered, my back facing the heroes and police as I stood my ground, unmoving. Then, slowly, I turned around with my hands rising to show I'm no threat, my hanging head low and hidden by the sharp contrast of light and dark.
"Raise your head so we can see your face!"
"That I'm afraid... that it's not really possible." I signed (used sign language) and raised my head. Those officers must be new to the kingdom. How pathetic. They were shocked to see a green mask with two emerald dots watching them like my eyes. "And I will not take my mask off, no matter the cost." I frowned under my mask. If Light knows... Things will get hectic. I promised myself to not be caught - though I already was, kind of, but not yet taken with.
"And we will not hesitate to take dire methods to capture you."
"You don't scare me." I said, the mask changing my voice drastically. From the silhouettes, I knew the rookie police was frustrated.
"Hold you horses." An awfully familiar voice spoke confidently. I groaned internally. Just who I needed. I thought sarcastically. An image of tall thin figure with his flowing coat in the wind appeared with a faint echo of a tick of a clock, walking towards me. Followed by shortly, his shorter and a bit bulkier partner landed with a crack in the road and marched alongside the taller.
"Tokei, Kurei, what a surprise to see you here." I was growing impatient and it showed through my voice, however warped it was.
"You surely have been confident in your abilities to save people." Tokei spoke.
"Have been successful so far, no?" I signed.
"What, cat caught you tongue?" Kurei was sharp. For some reason they seem harsher and meaner today. "Please, you looking down at us?"
"Not at all, kind sir. Just the matter of best conveyance of words." Kurei definitely snarled for a moment.
"Kakureta, we ask you to surrender and come with us at once, peacefully, for you have acted upon situations without legal consent and therefore you are deemed criminal." Kurei's voice boomed through the cold air.
"No legal consent? A criminal? Oh please... You're too quick to judge-" I pretended to get a sharp pain in the back of my neck, letting them believe their device worked, and fell down to one knee, groaning in pain to best of my acting ability which was good. The two heroes seemed content. "Y-You know..." my voice was hoarse as I spoke and searched for something in my right pocket to show them, "I do h-have c-consen-nt.." the authorisation card slipped from my hand when it trembled and fell down to my side. Man, they really have it against me, huh? This probably the only time I'm glad Light's and Professor's experiment kinda worked...
Time was the first react and was next to trembling me the next second, taking a look at the card. Just before I knew Illusion would get me out, I noticed Time's eyes widen under his visor. My heart skipped a beat, for a moment thinking that he actually recognised the language or the signature - I was really hoping that was not the case. Then I was teleported out. What a good choice it was to befriend an ex-villain, am I right? Always handy to have when you really have no powers to use with a different identity.
Time Steve POV
My eyes widened in shock as I read over the card and immediately recognised the blue signature in the bottom right corner. Could it... could it be..? No... S-Surely n-not- He.. how would he....
"Tokei!" Kurei called out, running to me. I glanced beside me to see that Kakureta wasn't there.
I was supposed to care, but I didn't at the moment.
"Tokei! What happened? You okay?" He was worried. I had probably frozen up. I muttered something.
But he couldn't hear
Or understand
"What? Time..?"
"Origin.." I muttered again. He heard me, judging by his tensing shoulders.
"Time..." he was scared. Of course he was. "You do not speak his name so casually... WHY even say it..?" His gaze flickered between the card and my face still staring at it.
"I need to know who's behind that mask." I said firmly, still in shock, and turned to him.
His face was ever so scared and confused.
And worried. I wouldn't be surprised. I'd be too if I were him.
