The next morning, mom was already up and preparing breakfast when I came down from my room.

"Good morning, sweetie. How was the party?"

I sat down on a stool at the island. "It was alright. Hectic. Lots of people there; Roalnd is pretty popular I suppose."

"Do we like this Roland character?"

I shrugged. "He's definitely a flirt and has the impression he can have any girl he wants. He was hitting on me several times throughout the night."

"Oh, and how did Carson take to that?"

"He didn't seem to like it at all. One because Roland was drunk and being an idiot."

"And two because he likes you and doesn't want Roland all over you, yeah?" Mom smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't know. He knows how his friend is and he was looking out for me."

"Yeah, think what you want. But I think it's because he likes you."

"Whatever."

Mom giggled. "Are you hungry?"

"Yes. What are you making?"

"Waffles, sausage, and eggs. Want some?"

"Of course. Please."

She filled a plate and set it in front of me then placed the butter dish and syrup in front of me as well.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, sweetie." She filled a plate for herself and took a seat next to me at the island.

"Do you want some milk or juice?" I asked as I got up to get a glass of milk for myself.

"Sure. I'll take some milk."

"Okay." I poured her a glass as well then returned to my seat with our milks.

"Thank you." She said as she took her glass from me, taking a sip before place it in front of her.

"You're welcome."

We buttered our waffles and poured syrup on them then began eating.

"Hey, I was thinking, since neither of us have any plans for today, why don't we go do some shopping together. Get to see more of the town and meet more of the locals." Mom suggested.

"Yeah. That sounds nice, maybe we can eat at Gideon's Sandwiches for lunch too."

"For the sandwiches or to see a certain someone?" She teased.

"For the sandwiches obviously." I replied.

Early that afternoon, Mom drove us into town and parked in one of the parking spots along the curb.

We entered a small dress store that had dresses galore. Even though the selection was minimal, they had anything from wedding dresses to prom and homecoming dresses; even simple dresses to wear any time.

Mom picked out a long, beautiful silk dress. "I'm going to go try this on." She stated as she eagerly disappeared to the fitting room.

I continued looking through the many silks and satins, ruffles and lace and eventually spotted a simple lavender sun dress with a corset style laced up back. I pulled it out and headed for the fitting rooms. Just as I was about to enter my own fitting room, Mom came out of hers and grinned at me.

"How does it look?" She moved to the mirrored wall at the open end of the fitting room so women can show off their outfits to friends or family.

The dress was an elegant emerald-green color with spaghetti straps that sat nicely on mom's shoulders and it reached to just above the floor; enough so she wouldn't trip. It was perfect for her height. The dress accentuated her breasts and hugged her thin waist nicely before draping loosely around her hips. She had her curly brown hair tied up into a simple bun on the top of her head, but when paired with the dress, the bun was much more elegant as well. The green color beautifully accented her lightly tanned skin, as well as, her hazel eyes. Mom looked gorgeous.
