Listen to the sound of thunder

Chapter 1- The breakup

Go to your room and do your homework, Elina! shouted my mum. I did as she said and ran upstairs. I had an essay that was due tomorrow and I should have started it weeks ago. I sat at my desk in front of the window in my bedroom and got out paper and a pen. It was storming outside, the rain was pouring down like it had been doing for hours now. As I was writing, there was thunder and lightning. Something about it was very distracting but I carried on writing anyway.The essay took me a couple of boring, tedious hours to write but I finished it! I shoved it in my school bag and ran downstairs for dinner.

After dinner I went to find my laptop and Facetime my boyfriend, Jack. I finally found my laptop in my drawer and went onto Facetime. My boyfriend said he would be on at 8PM exactly and it was now 10 past 8. I just assumed he had forgotten and went to find my phone. When I found my phone I saw I had a text from Jack. At first I didn't think anything of it but when I read it I was shocked it simply said,

"I don't wanna be with you anymore, Sorry x"

I was devastated. We had been together for 2 years and I thought he was The One. I wiped away my tears and lay down on my bed. I cried for what felt like a lifetime and before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
