Xavier watched as everything went down in flames. His house, his family, his soul. He watched as the fire ripped apart his years of work, the fire rapidly spreading around the attic. All of his paperwork, the papers he spent years collecting and studying for even a chance at fixing his family, all down the drain. The drain of unmerciful flames. Even at the face of death, he only thought of his family. He ran out of the white room, his pants already starting to catch flame. His mind raced with thoughts, wondering where he went wrong over and over again. He found himself shaking as he struggled to get out of the attic, his legs fully consumed by the fire now. He found it hard to move, his legs barely able to hold his weight. He felt his heart shattering as the screams of his children were heard, along with the shouting of his butlers. There was no way the fire had spread that quickly.. was there? Was time even moving anymore? He didnt know at this point, his legs going weak as he started to collapse. The fire ran up his old expensive suit he always wore, his eyes growing irritated by the flames. His screams were silenced by the screams of the others, the sound of the wooden floors decaying and the wallpaper peeling and burning away. The years he spent on this house, the time he spent making it a home, the time he spent to keep this from happening... it was all gone. It was over, and he couldnt do anything but watch as everything hes worked for came crashing down infront of him. He knew one day, his protection wouldnt last. He knew that this day was coming, but he didnt think it would be so soon. He wished he had more time. The wrath of all his past mistakes now engulfed his body, and the only things he could feel, were regrets.
