"Ron, I need some new engineers." Kimi stated bluntly. Ron was in shock, It was no surprise to him that Kimi would embark on a subject that way; bluntly. But having Kimi talk about the latter subject in such a way was unusual. "What do you mean Kimi?" Ron asked confused by the statement.

Kimi felt annoyed, he was evidently surrounded by morons. "I need some new engineers..." he stated once again. "Ron, as you may have noticed, throughout this season, the engineers haven't been able to communicate well. It's not that they are not performing well, it's more the dynamics between the two teams." explained David Robertson, Kimi's manager.

Robert felt there was tension in the air. It had started off as a simple meeting at the McLaren Head Quarters in Woking. But matters had changed quickly. Kimi didn't pay attention, or maybe he did, nobody knew, and Coulthard was busy speaking to his manager.

Ron utterly confused, sitting at the end of the table, he was eyeing all of the engineers.

Half of them looked guilty but none of them spoke. "Well? Is anyone willing to explain what is going on?" asked Ron, his voice deep and serious.

"Well, I don't know how to phrase it but, there has been some growing irritation, between us mainly due to strategy. A lot of us have different opinions about each other, the teamwork hasn't been functioning. We would like to see if there are some possibilities for the upcoming season to reform the teams." said a young mechanic on Coulthard's team.

"This should have been discussed earlier, we can't just rebuild the whole team." Ron was fuming, he couldn't understand how that could've happened. "I want everyone out, except the head mechanics, engineers, the managers. Kimi and David you may leave." He said loud and clearly. As everyone shuffled out of the room. Ron proceeded to make phone calls to HR, Finance and the McLaren board, to discuss their options.

The meeting lasted the whole afternoon. Kimi and Juan at that time had left and the headquarters were empty. Ron was packing up, as the head engineer on David's team; Antoine Pierroud, came up to him. " Dennis, Thank you for arranging this meeting, I didn't know the situation was this serious." He started, Ron turned around, holding a glass of water in his right hand. As Antoine was slowing down, confused as to Ron's behavior, but his contemplation ended when his boss waved his hand in his direction as to signal that he should continue talking.

"I've got an idea I'd like to propose, we can't immediately change both teams for the upcoming season, there just isn't enough people in the workforce to make such a change. But I suggest that we hire some new interns for you could say tryouts. They get to experience what it is like to work in this field, and if they do not perform we have to let them go. After a period, that we will have to determine, once again with the company board, we can either hire them or let them go." He explained matter-of-factly.

"I like where you are coming from, Pierroud. But what would we do, to improve the teams? It doesn't make it easier between them that new people arrive." Ron questioned as his gaze wondered off to the window, as he was looking at the view from the office.

"We can put them through some workshops on teamwork, yes it will be costing money and resources that could be used elsewhere but that's what's best for the future of the team. As for the interns I can look into that, I've already got some ideas, I will personally talk to HR and the board, as long as you agree to this, I can delegate this to HR and supervise the interns they find interesting." Antoine explained. Antoine was not power hungry, but that was one his many fears, being perceived as a person only wanting to climb up the ranks.

He was happy where he was. Ron came to a conclusion and agreed, he later wrote an e-mail to HR and the board that same evening. Antoine left and went home.
