CHAPTER EIGHT

Ellison was sitting in the library with Daphne, they were supposed to be studying for a test but instead they were gossiping about the party that would be happening in Slytherin that night.

It was Halloween and every year the Slytherin's threw a big party. All of the houses did, actually. Gryffindor and Slytherin just happened to throw the best.

"What are you wearing?" Daphne was asking.

Ellison shrugged, "Don't know, I never decided on anything."

"Ellie!" Daphne scolded, "You were supposed to decide weeks ago."

"It's entirely too complicated to pick an outfit. If I do something Muggle inspired no one will get it. There's nothing wizard-like to do. This is just the Slytherin girl's excuse to wear short skirts. Like last year, Pansy dressed as an American singer and when I asked her to name the singer she was dressed as, she looked at me like I was crazy."

Daphne scoffed, "You don't have to know everything about someone to dress like them for Halloween."

Ellison raised an eyebrow, "Really? Then who are you going as?"

"An angel."

"Where do angels originate from?"

Daphne rolled her eyes, "See! This is your problem! You're too serious, you need to have some fun." She picked up her books and shoved them into her bag, "Come on, we're going to Hogsmeade to get you a costume."

"I don't want to!" Ellison complained, "I won't even be there for long anyways."

Daphne took Ellison's paper and quill, "You're going to ditch Gryffindor and come to our party and you're going to love it."

This is how Ellison found herself standing in the corner of the Slytherin common room in an entirely too short red dress with red fishnet stockings and devil horns. Standing beside her was Daphne in the exact same thing- just in a white dress with white fishnet stockings, a halo and some wings.

"I want to die." Ellison grumbled.

"Relax, El. Just have fun."

"I can't have fun when everyone is staring at me. They probably want to know why the hell I'm in their common room."

Daphne rolled her eyes, "They're staring because you look hot."

Ellison scoffed, "You don't have to lie, Daph."

"I'm not, I promise. You're the best looking one here."

Ellison did not have a chance to respond because a drunk Marcus Flint stumbled over to the two of them, "Looking good, Avery."

Ellison gave a weak smile, "Thanks, Flint."

He smirked, walking away, Daphne turned to Ellison with a knowing grin on her face, "Told you."

Ellison rolled her eyes, "He can't even walk in a straight line. I'm not taking a compliment from him."

Daphne sighed, "Whatever, I'm going to go find Theo, you going to be okay by yourself?"

Ellison shrugged.

She stood in the corner watching Daphne talk to Theo for several minutes before someone walked up beside her, "Think you're in the wrong common room." A boy said to her.
