It's been a month since the accident. I sat down in a chair and waited. I looked at the white washed walls of the doctor's office and just sat there. I hadn't seen Wild Survivor since being led away in an ambulance. I just hoped for the best.

"Anna?" I heard my name called and I stood up and crutched my way into Rachel's office. I sat down in the patient's chair as the nurse said that Rachel would arrive soon. Five minutes later, I hear a knock at the door and Rachel steps in.

She slid off my boot and started to examine my foot. She felt around my fracture. She started to talk about what she felt. " Well, your fracture is way towards the back of the foot, near the achilles. I'm afraid that even if the fracture is heeled, it may have irritated or worse dug into and may have started to tear into the achilles. But I can feel the your fracture has almost fully healed. I can still feel a little crack, but your fracture was deep there too. But I will take an x-ray and we'll go from there. So we took a x-ray and headed back to the room we were in before.

Rachel pulled up the results on her computer. We looked at them for a minute then Rachel gave her synopsis on the matter. " Your fractured is almost healed. It would be healed enough to walk on the boot, but we need to look at the achilles first." She wheeled in her chair over to my foot and started prodding around the achilles. When she was finished she sat back and thought for a minute. " I'm going to put you in a boot for another month or so, well, until your next appointment. Then you'll probably get a different kind of crutch, we will discuss later, that will put the pressure on your arms and the crutched, but you won't have a boot, so your foot can learn to walk. You're almost starting over in a way. But this time, you won't be alone." She walked out of the room, and left me their to gather my things, and my thoughts.
