It's been a few days since Fiona's absence and the household has been a mess.

"Get out of the bathroom!" Debbie yelled loudly and knocked against the door a few times.

"Let me shit!" Carl yelled back. In reality, Carl didn't shit. He looked at the mirror and tried to make himself look presentable for today.

There wasn't a special occasion as to why he was doing so, he just felt like it. After he was finished styling his hair he stepped out of the bathroom.

Debbie was standing there with her arms crossed infront of her chest, looking Carl up and down confused.

"What the hell." Debbie said. "Why are you-- nevermind, I don't even want to know. Did you at least open the window?"

As Carl went down the stairs he said, "Nope." and went to the kitchen to look for food in the fridge. In there was still the strawberry juice. It was probably spoiled by now, but as Carl drank a sip out of it he could understand why it was still laying around in the fridge. It tasted horrible and Carl couldn't help but question whether Jack actually liked it or not. He drank a whole cup afterall.

He threw the half full strawberry juice into the trash bin and made himself some cereal instead.

But before he did that he found a letter on the fridge. It was from Fiona. He opened the letter and found money in it. A lot of cash and Carl couldn't help but smile at Fiona's care. Even though she was gone, she still cared. He put the letter with the money into his pocket and made his way to the dining table.

He sat down and suddenly he realised Ian's present.

"Going to your boyfriend today?" Ian asked as he saw the way Carl was dressed, his hair styled and he undeniabely smelt really good.

"No, just going to school."

"Like that?"

Carl shrugged his shoulder. "Maybe I'll put more effort that way." he said with a full mouth.

Ian laughed. "Fiona's absence must've taken a troll on you."

Carl rolled his eyes. "I'm over it."

"Look," Ian said, suddenly in a caring tone. "You miss Fiona. It's not a secret that she's your favorite and you are her favorite."

"You make it sound like she was my mother."

"She kinda was." Ian said. "Fiona raised you while Monica didn't. Hell, Fiona even raised me and we don't even have that much of an age gap as you two do."

Carl scoffed because he didn't know what else to say. Ian was right, of course he was, but he didn't want to admit it out loud.

Fiona was there when no one else was even during his worst phases and now she's gone and yeah, he didn't take it well.

"I want to do better at school." Carl said.  "I think I can't do it by myself though. I need tutoring lessons."

"With what money?"

Carl took the money out of his pocket and put it with a slam onto the table. Ian's eyes were huge at the sight of that much money.

"God, Carl." Ian responded to the money and the left corner of Carl's lips went up slightly. "Did you rob a bank?"

"Not this time."

"Then did you do a part time job secretly? Or... is your boyfriend rich?"

Jack, or rather his mother, is rich but in no universe would Carl accept money from him.
